So I know for many this will be an early post, but we've already had the start of the league year and trading period start on the 12th March and then the combine and draft. But most importantly for me last night the schedule came out and tickets were released.

Anyone who read last season's thread may remember I was hoping to see them this year and thankfully the fixtures fell in such a way that I will be in Detroit when they play the Cleveland browns and I managed to get two tickets last night. I'm made up. Shocked at the price especially compared to sport over here but I can't see me getting over there again so now is the time!

The lions have a tough set of fixtures so will have a more difficult path to repeat the success of the last two seasons.

Well well - I actually live across the water from Detroit in Windsor Ontario - I literally look at downtown Detroit every day...if you fancy a pint while in town!
Lions tickets used to be cheap as chips - but the penalty of success is paying through the nose.
Optimistic for the Lions this year - BUT their schedule is absolutely brutal. Need way better luck with injuries than they had last year!
Enjoy the game - if you want recommendations for bars/tailgating etc. Give me a shout!

How much were the tickets? I paid £110 as a walk up for the game which secured them the NFC North in Jan’24. It’s a stunning sporting arena.

I’ll be back myself at some point in November so will also try and line up on dates.

£264 each!! And that's upper bowl behind the endzone. But the way I'm viewing it, is it's a once in a lifetime trip so I've justifying it that way!! Plenty of Lions fans on Reddit really bemoaning the uprise in ticket prices as the club have got more successful. Some referenced $16 tickets from a few years back!!

You cannot put a price on living the dream.

Are you doing a road trip, or am I mixing you up with someone else?

You've got the right guy!

Boston, Ithaca, Niagara, Cleveland, Detroit, Holland Michigan, and Chicago. Two nights in the big cities and one night in the stopovers (and Cleveland).

The last task is to now persuade my wife that a baseball game in Cleveland is a good idea!!

Boston is superb, really enjoyed it.

Niagara-on-the-lake is worth a look and if you have the time. It’s probably 30 mins in the wrong direction for you, but really quaint and nice for a bite to eat.

What made you pick these night stops, are they on the tourist trail or just points of convenience (I’m asking for future reference 😄)?

As for the baseball, crazy to go to Cleveland and not see the Guardians!

Well we've got two nights in Niagara on the Canada side so it may be an option. I think that's going to be the opportunity to exercise the nature part of our personalities! Would love to see a Northern cardinal.

When we got back from New York we talked about another trip and my wife was really keen on getting out and about in the States and I was keen on Detroit and the sports side of stuff so we looked into a few things. We found the American Road Trip Company online and looked at what they do.

They have a load of preset trips, I only saw two with Detroit in, the great lakes and New York to Chicago. Mrs CSF didn't fancy the great lakes but the other had four nights in New York and we were there in November so didn't want to go back at the sake of four nights in other places.

SO I spoke to a guy there and he came up with what we are going ahead with. Which is great for us. They sort the hotels, the flights and the car as well as the plan and a guide pack. You just sort what you do in between! They've got a number of different kinds of hotels in all the places they call on depending on what budget you are working to.

As it goes now Mrs CSF is already warming to the idea of the baseball. I'm trying to paint the picture of the experience which I think she will enjoy more than the match itself with the NFL. Although I thnk she will enjoy the whole gameday experience with FOrd Field.

I spent more time under the stands of Ford Field than I did in the stand, it’s a vast expanse of eating and drinking establishments below.
