Summer Transfer Window

It’s a bit of an odd one imo. I’d rather we were signing players for the starting 11 and backup players with potential who could move into the first team. This looks like signing depth rather than strength in depth, with the risk that he’s a wasted signing. But we’ll see and I’m sure they know a lot more about him than me.
I understand your point of view and valid as well, with all the experience leaving the team, Sheehan clearly is looking for someone who is experienced, be that at lower levels, but someone he knows well, and has shown can bring alot to a team. I have 0 problems with this. 2 years. Not gonna be crazy money. It's about balance.

More than a replacement, he sounds like he might be an O'Brien level replacement which considering the rumoured 4m asking fee that Forest have put on him would mean a lot of money saved even if we account for a signing on fee. Thats money that could be used to entice McBurnie back or to fund a replacement centre half for Darling (or even both)
I like OB alot, but for me he is not worth breaking the bank. I can't see us signing him due to wages and would rather us concentrate on getting someone else who is younger and more sell on potential. Mcburnie the same.

Seriously, people go on about O’Brien as if he was Messi, an ok player nothing more and certainly not worth the angst shown by some.
Agree. I like him, and he reminded the club why we need this type of player. But he dropped off alot for me and there are better players out there, younger and cheaper. Yes experience counts for alot, but we should move on from him

It really did remind us that we have wasted years in this division by having Grimes in that position holding us back in the majority of games he played in.

Ben Davies dream is over, he’s signed a new deal with Spurs.
At least he didn't go to Wrexham. Would of been nice for him to return but it was never going to happen. Also though I do feel he would of been good for us, I am not really a fan personally of being a retirement home for players. Bony wasn't the Bony we saw. Allen was brilliant at times, but only when he was fit. I say let's use the money that we have on younger, exciting players who we can invest in and under 21.

Lots of Wrexham targets falling by the way side.
I stand by my view that they might start off good in the season, but they won't last the whole season with ageing players and the crazy world that is the championship. They won't be walking over teams. The division is bonkers.

You're right on the current squad. They require quite a transformation to consolidate at best and even more work for another promotion. Can’t see Parkinson being there past Christmas either. We all know our unforgiving this league is.

I'm looking forward to the new documentary from Wrexham. Think it's called The Rise and Fall of Wrexham 😂😂🌞

A bit churlish about O'Brien, completely transformed our season when he came in. However, it will cost a hell of a lot to get him back. The money would probably be better spent split out across positions so that we are more balanced, even if the replacement for OB is a relative downgrade in quality.

It might be difficult to get another player who has his experience at championship level, but get it right and it's always a gamble then there is no reason why we shouldn't be able to find an attacking minded player, who is younger and cheaper easier said than done. But OB dropped off alot for me towards the end. I would like a certain number 10 like we used to have. I dare say his name 😂😂. He was very good at free kicks and played for spurs 🤣
