I had a chat with my boys yesterday, I can’t influence who they vote for but I had to reinforce the point that conservatism is for old people. If young people can’t be rebellious and liberal there is no hope. The outpouring of grief for the evangelical TikTok entrepreneur who peddled his agenda based on a book about magic sky fairies is ridiculous, when the real issue is another gun crime. I bet those that pretend to relate to him on here and other swans forums haven’t set foot in a church in their lives besides weddings and funerals. I don’t have to agree with every thing Bob Vylan say or the way it presented but I have no problem with them having the right to say ‘fuck facism’, etc.

I’ve made this point several times,people think that there’s a thing called freedom of speech,well people can say what they want but they have time to realise they are living in utterly bolloxy cancelled shit which I think is complete and utter wank.

But conversely someone who, frankly had limited talent in any particular sphere can these days make money from social media via the "pay per click" regime. This is a point I made elsewhere; I truly wonder how many of these people don't actually believe what they spout, but simply use the sheer number of social media hits to line their pockets. Is it any wonder that they scream in the defence of "free speech"? The clicks are paying their bills.

I’ve been sensing an element of hypocrisy. These people, Kirk or Bob Vylan, have a message, it’s up to them how they present it but maybe the delivery could be tempered a bit. For me there’s also an issue of integrity and I can’t accuse Bob Vylan of lacking that. It’s all just two sides of the same coin.

I guess where the hypocrisy could fall in to place between them and Kirk is that his (Kirks) supporters are defending his freedom of speech.

In terms of religion take the Catholic Church as an example, for centuries homosexuality was a sin. They probably employ the largest amount of gay people on this planet.

A bit closer to home is/was my old man, he'd drag us to mass every Sunday and was banging anything that moved behind my mother's back during the week.

For clarity my hypocrisy comment wasn’t aimed at Bob Vylan. I’m in agreement with you.
