I know being a Swans fan I’m going to be biased and say Burgess is better, but I genuinely think he is.
He commands a bigger presence, is good with both feet and is good in the air. Yes, Darling did contribute to goals and assists, and I’m not denigrating him, but overall Burgess is a more complete player and we’re lucky to have him.
 
100% upgrade on Darling. I'm pleased we didn't cave in to the ridiculous wage demand from Darling.
 
Darling has stunk the place out at Norwich so far, defensively.

Burgess is a proper defender first and foremost. That's what's most important. Things like last night are a nice little bonus.
 
Burgess better all round defender, Darling has the edge over him on distribution and that's it. Burgess has given the ball away in dangerous areas in a few games already.

To be fair Darling gifted the opposition at least 1 clear attempt at goal every game
