I've lost a lot of love for football in recent years..whether that's getting older or the way things have been with the Swans or a combination of both, I don't know.

But what I do know is that nothing else could possibly give me that adrenaline rush I had last night. On a pissing down Wednesday in September. Absolutely epic.

You endure the crap and the ordinary most weeks but then every so often you get last night and it makes it all worthwhile.

And you certainly don't get it on your sofa watching a team based 200 miles away from your home town either.

I understand that,I lost an incredible amount of love for it when Amy became too ill to go about 4 years ago but I started taking my grandson who was 8 at at the time,I’ve now started taking the other one regularly now who’s 8 and it’s magical.

Spot on.
Those people who didn't go last night might have saved a few quid and not got their hair wet but they certainly missed that shear feeling of joy and adrenaline running through their body.

I was about to take my top off when that 3rd went in and it would have been off if my dodgy shoulder hadn't have kicked in.

I struggled to get to sleep last night due to the shear adrenaline running through my body.........I hope it was that anyway 🤣

I'm sorry to read that about Amy. We are pretty much exactly the same age from memory and she crosses my mind a lot.

I'm looking forward to being able to take my own kids and relive a lot of that magic through them. I'm expecting it'll be like rediscovering the magic of Christmas again.

Cheers pal and Santa will be waiting for you.

Does anyone else feel a bit of momentum building? We are on the cusp of something exciting - and saturday will be a realy tough examination of where we are.

It's called hope mate.

Something we haven't had for about 5 years in all truth.

We might not achieve promotion or win a cup this season, but the direction of travel is the right one. We haven't been able to say that for yonks.

It's great when you see the emotion in a youngster like that when it involves the club.

I had my 10yr old son and his mate sat next to me and when celebrating the 3rd goal, my sons friend tapped me and as I turned to look at him, he said my name and had a worried/shocked face and just said "My legs are shaking" 😂

The adrenaline and excitement had just taken over. I told him that it was ok, my legs were the same and sit down......he carried on standing with just a shear shock in his face at what had just happened in front of him with his legs shaking from shear adrenaline after Burgess had smacked the winner in.
Lush post, thanks for sharing 😀

I'm glad my son has made it to school every day this week, because reading this thread is making me feel even worse about leaving our seats empty on Wednesday! He was desperate to go and I wanted to take him, but he wasn't well and it wouldn't have done him any good.

I've got plenty of memories of games I'll hopefully never forget seeing live (7 goals against Brizzle, 3-2 against Leeds, the Jordi Gomez goal against Cardiff, the Forest playoff game, 3-2 Arsenal, etc) and this would have been his first epic Swans game. Great to read how much others enjoyed it though, even if we missed out!

If he wasn’t well you did the right thing my friend and hopefully there’ll be more to come.

It was a dreadful night weather wise as well, you may have risked it if it had been a sunny September evening. Don't forget the epic 5-4 v Palace either, as you say ,tremendous memories long may it continue.

In terms of attendence I was hardly going to games with the previous American owners, to the point I did not want to put a penny into they're pockets as well as feeling priced out of the game. Over the last couple of years my son started getting into football through playing FIFA with his friends and started supporting Liverpool, I always watched Swans games on TV and he didnt pay any interest. I decided back in Febuary after trying to get tickets to for him to watch Liverpool, it would be alot cheaper to get 2 season tickets for the Swans this season and we caught a couple of games at the back end of last season....

Fast foward to now he just turned 14 and we went to Middleborough, all the home games and we are going to Birmingham tomorrow and already bought our Southampton tickets, he was bouncing after the Forest game and said it was the best game of his life :)

Hopefully you both get to attend the next epic. I have a feeling that there may be quite a few this season 😀.
