• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Paul Chalmers left Celtic for St Mirren, then signed for us too.
Strange how it turned out for the 3 Scots signed around the same time.

Keith Walker signed as a centre midfielder, turns into one of our best lower league defenders and gets a testimonial after 10 years service.

John Hughes signed as a striker. Didn’t play much, went back to Scotland and turned himself into a centre half playing for Hibs, Celtic and managing 500+ games

Paul Chalmers. The most ‘high profile’ signing but never really got going (injuries?) until he had a run at the end of 91/92 then was sold that summer back to Scotland.

Paul Chalmers is the son of legendary Lisbon Lion Stevie Chalmers who scored the winning goal for Celtic against Inter in the 1967 European Cup Final, the first British team to win the big cup, every player born within a 30 mile radius of Celtic Park. Some achievement. Paul's daughter (Stevie's grand daughter) Natilie lives in Birchgrove to this day and is immensely proud of her da and papa 💚🍀

Football fans make me smile.

Signing players, sign players! Don't sign that player!
Im getting tired with fans throwing everyone under the bus. You can also add other websites and outlets to that. Maybe I need time out from it all? I'm even getting tired of the Indy reports and I'm a fan of there's. Not because I have lost passion, but because it gets boring to keep seeing the praise one minute and then the opposite a game later, it could take a few months or it could take a year for Idah to show us something. Who knows.

Idah will score us goals mate, lot's of drama queens/big girls blouses everywhere, Vipotnik doesn't score the next two games and the usual culprits will turn on him again.

Yep. VP goes on a small goal draught and people will turn. We can't win. If we didn't sign another striker, fans would moan. We go and sign Idah who, irrelevant of what people say had a very good goal return last season as competition. He literally has had little to no service in his brief matches.

Some people are only happy when they've got something to moan about

I think Vital has said his wages are high. Not a fan of this to be honest, I thought we were done with this type of thing. Nothing to do with Idah as a player btw but once you start shelling out for one, others will want the same. Let’s hope they have some money coming in from somewhere.

Ambition is critical.

Think on

Too right.

Not sure how half of them would cope with watching Martin Hayes or Steve Watkin week in week out.
They weren't that bad there was also Adien Newhouse and Tony Bird knocking around at that time

I can’t complain about the money, I’d rather us have it than not. Ambition can just as easily circle back around into foolishness, plenty of clubs have spent big and it’s backfired dramatically, let’s hope we’re not one of those.

Tony Bird, crikey that's a blast from the past.

Didn't sign him from Cardiff?

Remember Dai Thomas?
