How ruthless is this new ownership? Will they pull the plug on Sheehan if it gets worse?

This is not Sheehan Out Post. This is - will he get the time that Williams and Martins did? And at what cost?

I think you have to give him until the next internationals and if things don’t improve by then, maybe look to make a change. He’s still got enough credit in bank to be given that chance.

To stay he needs a sustained run of games where we create chances. I just can not see it and do not think that is his type of management. It feels inevitable. No need to rush but I am sure they will be looking for a new coach now and trying to find the right time to hire him.

I agree. I think we will get our answer come November 8th. I can't fault him wanting to go more attacking tonight, but for some reason the players either have been coached not to attack and quickly or something is off.

Someone made a good point the other day on here that Sheehan wasn't really the club's first choice and in many ways, yes he earned a shot, but they did take their time and they was cornered into letting him have the role. Not sure the change in his backroom staff has hindered him as well? Either way if we was losing and seeing some performance I would be OK about it. But I'm seeing niether. And I'm getting bored of what I'm seeing.

Honestly? We simply don’t look like a proper football team, and no manager can or will survive that.

The players really are not taking any responsibility to try and sort it on the pitch either, As ARQS said, they are playing matches on a whiteboard, not on the grass.

He needs to sort it out quickly, it's starting to have a feeling of inevitably as it stands.
I don't think performances as they are willing allow him extra time. We lose or draw on Saturday with another negative lacklustre performance and I think he is a goner.

What worries me is how quickly the players have gotten poor in a short time. I know it's about confidence but there is no reason why this has happened other than the coaching team drilling the negative play. If you asked me a few weeks should Sheehan stay, I would say yes. Ask me now and my answer is he has to do something dramatic to change my mind.

I think they're confused, Galbraith seems ok with his instructions, because he can converse in English, Yalcouye, Franco, Eom, Ronald don't look comfortable out there

Well I hope that if they sack him on the weekend they have a plan.

We don’t want an interim manager for a few games while they wonder who his replacement is going to be. Some clubs sack a manager and have a new one in place before the next game.

I posted below on day one of the season. I also hoped that more signings would come before the end of the transfer window. They did in fairness. But in reality, it's def a case of lots of new names that mean diddly squat without quality (apart from Galbraith in the main).

Actually "mid table mediocrity" might turn into "relegation battle" the way things are going. And so boring as well, mirroring Luke Williams tenure now !!

I'm not sure where we go from here tbh.

This was my original post :
_"Let's get real..as much as I have wanted to be positive about the new owners and Sheehan, today is no real surprise ( opening game Middlesborough). Yes some early signings in the bag, but new names mean diddly squat without quality. Nothing there to wow us despite Modric and Snoop. There is no serious money to make us a force in this Division - mid table mediocrity is where we're at"_

He gives the impression of a coach who thinks he has a lot more time than he likely does, and the team reflects that as well in the way we set up and play. It's slow and waiting for things to come to us rather than playing/partying like it's 1999...

I have no idea what the owners have told him in private, but whatever it is, he can disregard it, as fan sentiment is all that tends to matter these days in getting the downward momentum past a point of no return. If the pressure ramps up and performances don't improve, he'll be gone regardless of what timetable he thinks he's working on.

I would take mid table, especially if we were an attractive attacking side most of the time while getting there. You could at least build in that, which I think the owners want to do. Unfortunately we’re struggling to function as a football side at the moment and look more like we should be near the bottom. It’s hard to see progress being made, that’s for sure.

Great point. We all understand that it takes time and for players to adjust to the league and formation etc. But Sheehan is forgetting that his team needs to show intent and at least put a performance in, irrelevant of the result. His selection for QPR was a sign of intent. But he got it all wrong. I keep giving him the benefit of doubt but he doesn't seem like he is learning. Sadly the fans are voting with there feet too.

I really think Sheehan is over complicating the situation. Irrelevant of what many may say, we have good players who can attack. It's as if he has asked them to slow it down and go backwards and try and build to the perfect goal.
