BBC lazy journalism again:

Russell Martin open to Swansea City return
According to the BBC, Martin is open to the idea of returning to Swansea, more than two years on after leaving for Southampton.

The outlet states that Martin ‘remains a popular figure among players and staff at Swansea’, however, a move back to south Wales for the available manager ‘is unlikely’ despite still having ‘many admirers within the club’.

I'm going to have to get my banners and marching boots out of storage.
It's been a while...

I think it’s mainly the under 12’s that love Martin on Twitter.
I don’t think most of them have ever set foot in the stadium but some others do love him for the double double.
Personally I think he’s a better chef than a football manager.
All his stats wherever he’s been are average to poor so I really don’t get his god like status.

There are one or two of the older generation who are weirdly full blown members of the Martin cult.

I do think he could do a better job here with the resources we now have but I wouldn’t want him back. I think it’s better to move forward.

If you ask me, the level of intensity with which he is liked and disliked is confusing. We were a mid-table side who played some decent stuff, but didn’t trouble the top end at all. I do have more patience than most with his style from what I can gather from these boards!

The double double will always be remembered though, he goes down in history for that.

Not sure about his ability or brand of football, the one thing I'll forever be grateful for towards the man is how he cured my insomnia.
