Budget November 2025

Sorry my man. Honest, I can't remember the way he started politics in the 80's. 90's I just remember what transpired afterwards with Thatcher and Blair, earlier years with Blair, I have no recollection of Blair back then, for my shall we say deniability of not knowing that, I was rather off my head at the time, in my 20's who gives a ferk, life was good,
I was in a similar stage of my life. All I can remember is this bright energetic man sweeping in to power ending years of Tory misery.

The 80's. 90's were the best, no real care for Politics, just how can I go out, 5 or 6 nights a week, Shades, Barons, Marthas, Ritzys,, The good old days..

Edit: No doubt, it's a never ending circle. Will there be someone on a Football Forum in 2070 saying that 2025 was the best years of my life. I bet there will.

Only night I stayed in was a Monday. When I look back on it now I can't understand how I could afford or got up for work in the morning 😂

It’s quite easy to cite Blair as the type we need.

I’d agree in terms of his genius in relation to communication.

But let’s be fair. In 1997 the economy was booming, liberal democracies were in ascendancy and there was no social media. Let’s not forget he sucked up to Murdoch too.

It’s not difficult to argue the incredible opportunity that was there was squandered.

Where as when Starmer took over it was a very very different landscape and communication age.

The big learning from the Blair era is defining narratives and consistency in messaging.

Starmer is an old fashioned politician in an age that requires solutions yesterday. I do feel sorry for this Gov in many ways they’ve got no chance in this era. Look how popular Johnson became yet he was a disgrace (but the boosterism! Oh the boosterism) and destroyed this Country.

My own view is that we let the government do its thing and see where we are in 2029 when the next election rolls around. I’ll be accused of being a
Labour shill and that’s fine. My political leanings have never been a secret on this forum.
I was very much prepared to go the same way, knowing that it was going to take some years to right the wrongs of the proceeding fourteen years. However Labour are burning my credits quickly and if the budget row goes in the direction which I think it will, then this is unforgivable. It matters so much because the behaviour of Starmer and Reeves has damaged markets, damaged pension pots, influenced the tough decisions that investors and families have to take. Honesty and integrity is essential, and we are not getting it.

My question to you.

How much of all of what we’re told is the fault of the Ministers and how much is a media confection?

I mean net migration has plummeted does anyone know this? Imagine it was the other way

There is way too much misinformation which people are buying without question despite believing themselves to be above such things.

I would say the type we need is Gordon Brown or John Smith, but it would need to be packaged in a much more media friendly veneer. There is no one I can think of that is up to it from any party or faction. Certainly not the likes of Streeting, let alone Fartage or Jenprick. Hopefully Labour will change the voting system to ensure we never get an extremist, never mind a tinpot racist narcissistic turd.

As to Starmer, he needs to bury the likes of McSweeney and Glasman and actually push some radical policies through…call out Brexshit as you said.

The way things are worldwide though, I doubt any incumbent leader, never mind party, can survive long. Thats why when the likes of Shitler in the US and his ilk try to control everything in an autocratic hegemony.

That is such a bad thing for this country. Fuelled by young talent leaving and the people we need not coming anymore.

Talk about the horns of a dilemma. Politically necessary, economically disastrous.

They'd need to sort themselves out before anyone is going to take them seriously as a party.
Talk about a complete joke. Monty Python's Judean People's Front and the Popular Front of Judea ratcheted up several notches.
As for a new Labour leader, I think their only hope is to go through with getting Andy Burnham elected to a safe seat, then him mounting a leadership challenge pronto. He's keeping his cards close to his chest at the moment.

Let’s see how the budget row plays out (which is why I used the words “if the budget row goes in the direction which I think it will”). As it stands now and based on the facts available via what OBR have already said, it doesn’t look good for Labour.

What budget row?
