I can offer you no evidence or reasons for what I'm about to say, call it blind faith if you want, but I still believe that we will sooner or later hit a bit of form and end up finishing somewhere between 14th and 16th. Which is roughly where I thought we'd be before a ball was kicked anyway.

Having said that, I really hope we hurry up and get a move on soon because the last 5-6 games are stinking, it's one of the worst runins we've had in a while (on paper at least). Wouldn't fancy testing our mettle if we're going into that with only 45 points on the board.

This is the Benson we need

Sticking with the positive vibes of this thread, I do think Matos can change the attitude around the team and get us on the kind of run that will pull us out of danger, similar to Sheehan last season.

Slightly less positive, the current version of Benson looks like he ate the version in that video. I don't like to denigrate players who have suffered through injury, but I have seen no signs that he can get back to anything like that level. At this point I'd rather cancel his loan in January and bring Congreve back instead.

The obvious positive is that there was a better performance on Saturday for much of the first half. The other is that the new manager has only had two or three training sessions with the team, so to expect him to change things in as short time is at best fanciful and at worst criminally insane.

Didn't think we would get a lot from Leeds and Sunderland away last season, football has a funny knack of throwing up surprises. Hope we hit a decent bit of form soon though. Think our squad is much better than what we have seen so far this season.

Same here. You can see why we went for him though, looks a perfect signing to challenge Ronald

OK so I like many others have I been vocal on why I feel we might go down. I feel little hope but I have to get behind this team irrelevant of what happens and my match day rants will never change. We have all pointed out the managers, recruitment and how the players look like they can't be bothered.

We get it, people on this forum keep banging on about how they told us so. You don't have to repeat it a 100 times.

So instead of seeing the negatives let's see what the positives are and why you think we will stay up.

I'll start. I think we have a better squad than we are seeing (yes I have 0 proof of this and stats say different) and a manager who might be unproven but has potential.

You don't suddenly become a terrible team overnight. What ever went wrong behind the scenes. And yes a few players need to go I think we have some solid players who are massively underperforming.

Clearly a player. I think he needs a run of games and play him through the shit! Problem is key is cack and he won't help him defensively which is probably why he doesn't play.

Agree with this. A win (however scrappy) will get some confidence and turn the tide
