• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

If those in charge of the club put a faction of the effort into the playing side as they do into ‘monetising the brand’ we may be slightly less in danger of disappearing down the plug hole into the lower leagues and we may have some coaching staff.

Get someone in who knows something about football for God’s sake.

It feels like we’ve really lost our way, probably, in retrospect, since the end of last season. If the team can’t perform on the pitch, nothing else matters, and that seems of the least importance.

I just think there is absolutely no one who has any experience of managing a football club.
We have a commercial manager plus someone whose expertise is in data analysis and market making managing the club.

This fiasco with the coaching staff is symptomatic of the problem.

As soon as their names became public I wrote on here that they would find it enormously difficult to get a work permit. Because I read the rules. Which took a minute of my time.

Even if we do get permits (after what is clearly a lengthy battle with the Home office) we have been two weeks or more without coaching staff. On top of which, we should be asking whether a club in our position should be reliant on coaching staff that have never coached at anything like the level needed to be able to work here automatically. (Given the dross that manages to get work here with far less effort). Now they may be great, may be exceptional, but it’s a ridiculously risky gamble for a club in our position.

It was obvious there was an issue the second the club appointed two Swans legends to quiet the criticism that was obviously going to come.

It is simply not good enough.

Blimey 🤣

Anyone listened to the podcast, any shape on it?

Experience told me we were/are watching a developing clusterfuck. Apparently I’m negative.

No, no.
We have best in class, world leading recruitment.

I heard it on the internet.

Toe curlingly bland and unbearably chummy.

Might to to some folks’ taste, but on balance I think I’d rather play with a bacon slicer.

I was at Cheltenham 4-3 and 2-1.. also the kidderminster game where we were down to 10 men and won 5-1.. that Cheltenham stand was dodgy as f*ck, if they kept it the way it was.. it would've collapsed 100%.. the food at Kidderminster was food of the gods on a cold dreary night

we need another Trevor Birch type of guy and with no disrespect the new owners need to move and FAST to sort the mess that has given us a manager with no coaches farcical
