Was told today The Ospreys are to be no more.
WRU have advised Ospreys’s backers to put their money into Cardiff.
Employees have been told to look elsewhere for work.

Basically Cardiff are saying that Swansea should not have a first class rugby team but it is all right for them to have one because they are the capital. Also, the WRU, A bunch of failed business people voting for themselves and their mates.

Y11 have tried to buy Cardiff before. Now it suits the WRU to offer them sweeteners to get the number of teams to 3and to avoid any protracted tenders or legal challenges. Y11 also tried to move Ospreys to Ealing (yes, you read that right) and merge with Llanelli, so they have form.

The irony is, Cardiff don’t want them. So it’s not cut and dried just yet. It’s the obvious move though.

Meanwhile the Dragons haven't won a game for 51 weeks...
They’ll be gone too in a couple of years and we’ll be at 2.

But they have their own ground, which trumps the Os.

If I had a couple of quid and actually enjoyed rugby, I would be tempted to take the Ospreys across the border and compete in the English competition or at least look in to the possibility of doing so rather than just fold as a club.

Cracking new stadium sold out every other week.

I'm not really in to rugby, yet I know they've offered very little as club side since they've been in existence.

The WRU strikes again.

Sod Welsh rugby. The WRU have already alienated so many rugby supporters in the valleys and North Wales and are now alienating those in Neath/Swansea area while retaining the failed Dragons and the insolvent Cardiff.
The sport is dying in this country and I have no interest now in following any of the remaining regions or the international team even though I am a passionate Welshman

This will further reduce the pool of future players as youngsters in this region will have nothing to aspire to.....an area which produced, the likes of Gareth Edwards,Mervyn Davies,Shane Williams,Alun Wyn Davies,Elgan Rees,Paul Thorburn,JJ Williams,to name a few.....I know skme of rhese are from Bridgend not Swansea but it is now in the Ospreys region ,players who came from the Bridgend, Aberavon Neath and Swansea area were an essential oart of our glory years despite playing for Cardiff Sir Gareth Edwards came from the upper Swansea Valley.

Gareth Edwards, Barry John, Gerald Davies all west Wales boys who played for Cardiff. The saying back then was “play for Cardiff and play for Wales” the so called big five selectors couldn’t get off their collective arses and watch rugby outside Cardiff.
Not much has changed in some ways.

Was written in the stars, can’t remember who the individual was from the WRU who said this was, but words to the effect of “ we want a team in the west, a team in the east, and Cardiff”. May as well have just put the nail in the coffin for the ospreys there and then.

It’s the “cardiff has to have everything” mantra again. They took first class cricket away and then they took the rugby. Their dream will be complete if the swans went bust.

Such a weird time to be welsh - people voted for a stronger more independent Wales but all that’s happened is the formation of the peoples republic of cardiff in which everything MUST be centralized.

They regard the rest of wales with disdain but they positively hate Swansea.

Gareth was born in Gwaun Cae Gurwen which is more Amman Valley but he went to school in Pontardawe. What are the chances that two of the best scrum half's that the British Lions have had went to the same school. Look at Trebanos and how many internationals came from there or live there. That is certainly Swansea Valley.
I know it is splitting hairs but your point is spot on.
You cull Swansea and you kill rugby in Wales
Cardiff only wants the money on match days as seen by the South Africa humiliation.
