The last Sunday night before the dreaded work on Monday, of this calendar year. Feels quite nice.
Finish up on 23rd till 2nd of Jan for me, went up to Brecon for the day night yesterday its was ok as well. was gonna be Cardiff, but wasn't paying over 200 quid for the night and to go up and back on train is a pain, drove up yesterday morning and came back at half 12 today via Cardiff ironically cause we had to pick youngest up from respite.

We officially close on the 23rd as well but I have a couple of days holiday to burn, hence next Friday it’s all over. Back at it on Sunday 4th Jan. Merry Christmas Max, best wishes to you and yours.

Thanks and same to you and yours Coops.

If you're ever up in Brecon I recommend the Hop and Gin Tapas plus, it's like a narrow corridor bar is up the back, but their reputation is built on their Tapas, they were doing a Festive Tapes weekend gone and it was lovely Turkey and Brie meatballs, pigs in blankets with bacon and onion, bacon with sprouts and puff pastry with beef in sauce on top, roast pots with garlic and rosemary.
Bloody lovely it all was to, next time we go up we'll try their usual Tapas offerings.

Yep, I finished for Christmas, and all future Christmases on September 30th. Now I seem to be spending my time stalking Mutey 😆
How's the River levels up there Monny I did hear that the Monnow was like a torrent and that it had burst its banks in places, the Wye is 1 and half mtrs above summer level and rising, it was nearly 5mtrs last week.
Love the Monnow it's a cracking river which holds some cracking fish, fished it last winter with one of my butties from Hereford.

No flood warnings as I understand it just at the moment Max, and I’m told much was learned about defence…at least for the Monnow. A lot of fingers are crossed. There seems to be a storm every week, so who knows where next. Somewhere unexpected by the way things are going.

Where do stay up there, Max?

First time we've stayed there, plenty see up there but probably not this time of year, we stayed at The Town house only three rooms there it's very nice in fairness, the continental breakfast was a bit minimalistic though , it's right by the Cathedral separated by a raging [it was yesterday] River Honduu.

The owners of the Castle Hotel have just spent 3,1/2 million on improvements, looks stunning to fair play, Mrs niece is getting married just outside of Brecon next September, so we may stay there, if not we'll stay at the Town House again.

Good news, I'm sure I read or heard something about the Monnow flooding or it maybe just a report of the speed of the rivers flow.

Right’o, I fancy a night or two away over the hols and the Castle looks very nice. Two weeks at home will drive me stir crazy.

We’re off to Saundersfoot. St Brides’ rooftop spa awaits.

It’s my Missus favourite hotel, haven’t been there since it was refurbed in the summer. I’m more of a grouch and begrudge forking out to stay in Saundersfoot as it’s not 20 mins down the road from us.

Enjoy. 🍺🍺
