My nan is 86, she's ate full fat content and smoked for 71 years.. my grandfather and other nan both died from cancer, they didn't smoke and my nan was teetotal and health conscious.. guess which one is still alive
As everyone knows, the exception proves the rule. The stats are overwhelming.

I think that’s the kind of question, that will be answered in a few hundred year time! No doubt then in the year 2325 there will be something else to think about?

My wife just informed me it’s 23 years and I’m sure you asked me about it.
I may well have done and I recommended the same person I saw to my mate Ian who gave up a few months later.

Best money I ever spent.

Last year I had to get a passport renewed in a hurry so paid for the appointment service, also went for the bigger version at same time, and that came to a grand total of £219.50. The £9.35 I saved on postage was spent on fuel getting to Newport.
I’ve done Newport in the past but it wasn’t being offered when I checked in the last couple of years, I thought they’d binned it off? Anyway, I went down the postal route, recorded, fingers crossed and all that, and lo and behold I had my new passport in about a week. It’s taken longer to get visas printed in the past and I’ve also just got a new A1 cert that I didn’t expect to get without any hassle, so it might just be luck but some services appear to be running quite well recently.

I had to renew my passport recently, and was surprised and relieved at how simple and quick it was, even from Spain. It cost about £100.
I did the initial application online, including Mrs Pego taking my photo with my own phone, which they approve online, then pay online and post the old passport back to them. I did recorded delivery from Pego post office, think it cost about 9€, only took a few days to get there.
I was bombarded with emails from the Passport Office keeping me informed at every stage. The new one came back via DHL couriers within about two weeks, with the old, defunct one following by the same route a few days later.

This was February last year so it was certainly an available option then. My wife had hers returned within a fortnight via the normal route, so I would agree your point re the good service level, albeit it’s expensive.

I gave up around 8 years ago with Stop Smoking Wales. They wean you off it using patches and gum or mouth spray. I used the patches and spray, I’m now addicted to the spray, which costs me about £20 week.

Almost 5 years for me, still have the "odd" woodbine if you know what I mean, yet thats been at least 8 month, remember 50p ish for a pack of 10 or 6p a single

I decided to decorate my living room so stuck a patch on, gum in my gob and within 2 days was done, no more smoking, shocked myself......

Vaping did it for me.
I hate vaping, especially if you're walking behind someone vaping and you get covered in the aftermath of the disgusting stuff, sometimes there's no way of avoiding a cloud of the disgusting shit.
Although If I see someone with one in their hand, I try to give them a very wide berth.

I’ll be sure not to be in your vicinity when vaping then. Or perhaps I’ll take up smoking again and blow the over you instead.

When I left Penlan (Multilateral) at fifteen it was nine old pence for five Woodbine. I gave up just over forty years ago.
