Dancing Brock no where to be seen this week. He might as well have painted a target on his back. He isnt talented enough to be doing things like that.

Alternative opinion to your and FOJP's posts: the 49ers have been performing miracles all season given the team was already relying on rookies in multiple positions even before suffering a ridiculous amount of injuries.

Losing the best tackle in football and our No.1 WR in Pearsall before the Seattle game made the task almost impossible. Those injuries meant Kittle had to block more, leaving McCaffrey as the only real option for quick passes (our other receivers lack separation skills on quick routes). Seattle were well aware of that and had 2 defenders on McCaffrey constantly. Add that to our inability to stop the run (we were down to practice squad linebackers early in the game) and we had no chance. Even then if the ball doesn't bounce off of McCaffrey's hands, we're only down 3 in the second half and anything could have happened.

Brock Purdy is a top-tier quarterback. Take away the amount of players he was missing from the offence and no quarterback would shine, especially against a talented defence like Seattle's. If Purdy had been picked in the first round like Maye, he'd be getting the kind of over-the-top praise Maye has been getting all season. Too many people formed negative opinions of him early because of his draft status and they hate having to eat their words as he excels.

Given our injuries, a first round exit in Philadelphia is the likely result. Nothing's guaranteed though.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see all three NFC games result in road wins.

After watching the game v the 49'ers I think the only team that can prevent a Seahwaks superbowl is the Rams. They (and a Darnold meltdown) are my only fears.

I disagree. You won 6 games with Mac Jones. who is a donkey You take Drake Maye out of the Pats you get 0 wins.Thats why maye should be MVP( he wont be) Theres a reason Purdy wasnt picked in the 1st round. Purdy is a good QB. Maye is great QB.

We went 5-3 under Jones (who removed from Mayo's awful Pats team is far from a donkey and is Shanahan's latest reclamation project QB. It went very well for Sam Darnold) and the team had less injuries at that point. Purdy has gone 7-2 this season and two of those wins came against the 1 and 2 seeds in the NFC.

How Maye does in the playoffs will be interesting and will either strengthen or weaken his status. The only playoff game that Purdy has lost when he's played the whole game was the Superbowl. The reason Purdy wasn't picked in the first round is because the draft is a crapshoot. Redraft that group now and he's a lock to be picked first.

Final argument in his favour. He has the highest Quarterback Rating in NFL history - 104.8. Maye's is 103.1 so far. Interestingly he's just had a season almost identical to Purdy's second season. If Maye gets to the Superbowl like Purdy did then he's at least as good as Purdy. If he wins it, I may have to concede defeat!

Maye is a special player. I watched the greaest ever to play the game for almost 20 years. Whisper it, but we may have struck the lottery again. I dont see "special" when I watch any other QB save Allen. HE is the best QB in the league.

I predict Ram vs Bills SB. PATs D is too soft unfortunately. If they win a playoff game that will be an achievement. I think its touch and go vs Chargers. They put the smack on us last season. Im just happy it wasnt the Bills. In all fairness I wouldnt begrudge Joish Allen a ring. He is a remarkable player. I havent forgotten how th eBills lost 4 s/bs in a row. That must have been agony.

Seems Caleb Williams may be living up to his draft pick. He has habit of 4thQ comebacks. Thats a good habit for QB. That was a good draft fro QBs.

I enjoyed watching him in college. I remember seeing him in a couple of games when he was at Oklahoma and thinking this guy is incredible at pulling rabbits out of hats in do or die situations. Another wild 4th quarter comeback yesterday.

This 1st playoff is a cagey affair. My strategy against Buffalo would be to let them lead all the way to the end, rather like the Patriots did at Buffalo. Just stay in range and kick a field goal at the death.Simple. You know Buffalo can score at will.

49ers lose yet another of their star players to injury and still somehow eke out the win. Considering how depleted the defence is really incredible that they kept Philly to 19.

I also can’t express how much I love watching a trick play Jauan Jennings TD pass.

Milton Williams demonstrating why hes worth every penny of his contract. Surprising performance by the D nevertheless. I hope we play Shyttsburg. We turned the ball over 5 times and it was still a one score game earlier in the season. Unfinished business.

I'm not quite sure how they pulled that off to be honest. It may have as much to do with the Eagles offence being poor as the Niners doing well.

Now that Hurts doesn't seem to want to take off running as much, he holds that offence back. You could see the difference between him and Purdy. Their stats make it look like they performed at a similar level, but most of his completions were relatively short and safe despite having ridiculous time to throw thanks to the Niners non-existent pass rush. He still overthrew some easy passes and was extremely inaccurate when he went long.

Purdy threw two interceptions because he has a gunslinger mentality (and also fumbled at the end of the first half because he tried to get more yards for a field goal try rather than getting out of bounds quickly), but also made more game-changing throws. People see him as a steady game manager type made to look good by Kyle's system. It's true that having an offensive guru as coach will help significantly, but Purdy is a boom or bust quarterback who will try things that gives Shanahan kittens.

I really can't see us taking down the Seahawks in Seattle. It's insane that we've got this far when we're down the best linebacker in the league, a top 10 DE, our Number 1 and 2 wideouts, starting the 6th and 7th different linebackers this season, etc. Now add on losing the best TE in the league and it looks like an impossible task against a team that are possibly the best in the NFL.

If we do lose next weekend as I predict, I hope the Bills win it all. Allen is a great player and their Superbowl heartbreak is well known, as Sham said above. Bears would be the next best. I'd love to see Ryans win it with the Texans, but that seems improbable.

If I was putting money on it, I'd predict Bears v Seahawks and Bills v Patriots in the Championship games, with a Bills v Seahawks Superbowl. Unfortunately I'd also have to predict that it will be a Seahawks win.
