Dancing Brock no where to be seen this week. He might as well have painted a target on his back. He isnt talented enough to be doing things like that.
Alternative opinion to your and FOJP's posts: the 49ers have been performing miracles all season given the team was already relying on rookies in multiple positions even before suffering a ridiculous amount of injuries.
Losing the best tackle in football and our No.1 WR in Pearsall before the Seattle game made the task almost impossible. Those injuries meant Kittle had to block more, leaving McCaffrey as the only real option for quick passes (our other receivers lack separation skills on quick routes). Seattle were well aware of that and had 2 defenders on McCaffrey constantly. Add that to our inability to stop the run (we were down to practice squad linebackers early in the game) and we had no chance. Even then if the ball doesn't bounce off of McCaffrey's hands, we're only down 3 in the second half and anything could have happened.
Brock Purdy is a top-tier quarterback. Take away the amount of players he was missing from the offence and no quarterback would shine, especially against a talented defence like Seattle's. If Purdy had been picked in the first round like Maye, he'd be getting the kind of over-the-top praise Maye has been getting all season. Too many people formed negative opinions of him early because of his draft status and they hate having to eat their words as he excels.
Given our injuries, a first round exit in Philadelphia is the likely result. Nothing's guaranteed though.
