• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Vipotnik has a contract until 2028 with us. Realistically we need to get him on a new contract this summer.

Personally I don't see it. It would be some statement of intent if he stays but with him being the top scorer in the championship, he's gonna go and we will be looking for another striker to compete with Idah.

I did read that we have an international striker on our list from Northern Europe who we have been watching for a year.

It would be a shame to see VP go. What do we think?

People saying that he wouldn't hit 20 goals for the season a few weeks back

He only needs 7 more with 18 games to go to hit that milestone
And for half a season the service he got was the square root of fuck all
Added to that he isn't a penalty taker to pad his scoring stats

Considering his age and with two years still to run on his contract we could demand top dollar for him this summer but hopefully we aim to sell the project to him and tie him down to a new deal

If you said to me this time last year he would be performing like this I would of laughed. And I am one of those fans who supported him through the bad. For his age and now most likely hitting 20, he will go and has to be a large fee for me. Yes Piroe is far better player, but I cannot see why we cannot demand 15M or more.

Whilst I always thought he was harshly rated last season and that he'd be capable of more if used properly, he's exceeded even my expectations. Double last season's goal tally already and it's barely past mid-January.

Last night was almost the complete #9 performance. It's just a shame we couldn't give him the chances to complete his hat trick.

The big positive for me in the last two games are the type of goals he’s scored.

It was argued (and probably rightly so) that he was only scoring worldies and we weren’t creating things for him earlier in the season but the 3 recent goals are the type that all good centre forwards get over the course of a season if they’re getting 20+ goals. Long may it continue!!

It's been clear since he first came that there was a player in there. I think the basics were there to see that he had the tools to do a job and we are seeing it on a regular basis with him now starting regularly and being the main man.
A little bit of talk about keeping him this morning which my first thought was that the club are trying to build up a bit of interest in him. I would hope that it's being done in readiness for the summer window rather than this one.

I think we can all agree that if and when he does go, given his contract situation that we have to be looking close to and around 8M.

£8m for a 23 year old striker who is top scorer in the division and has 2 and a half years left on his contract? Put the crack pipe down Daps.

You're way off with £8m. Look at previous sales in the Championship of young goalscorers and that can be a starting point
