...to gain promotion last season, yet are now almost certainly doomed to an immediate relegation return. 100 points !!😯 - a mind boggling tally which you would assume might give a reasonable chance up there. Nope.

I guess Premier League money is the major benefit, but makes you think is that what it's all about 🤔. A promotion run is a nice appetizer though, there is that.

But I will happily settle for some enjoyable football given recent years fare.

Leeds have surprised me (I thought the Farke would default to negative pepball). Sunderland have astonished me. They'll slide over the next 3 months and they'll be down the bottom next year though. Florist will be lucky to spawn another season. Even if you go up and do well for a few seasons, your number is on a bullet. Wolves for sure and if not Florist, then Spam or maybe Fulham.

Yes you're right, your number is written on a bullet soon as you're up. .but also makes you admire Bournemouth (4 yrs), Brighton (9 yrs) and Brentford ( 5 yrs)...and still going well.

Our 7 yrs were also quite remarkable when you think on it.

Eyes wide open mun 😂

Nah, Russell Martin and Luke Williams are the sods who ruined football for me - plus the thousands who've stayed away. At least I stuck with my season ticket.

I am loving Vitor though, bringing me hope

The PL seems to have gone back to a point where physicality and athleticism trump everything in terms of player profile. Leeds and Sunderland have recruited very well in terms of this.

Not sure about Fulham being in any danger mind. Even if the points total is higher than usual this season, they only need a handful of points to stay up. Palace could be in a bit of trouble if their poor form continues though.

All about recruitment once promoted these days.

Sunderland obviously have a really good manager but they pretty much brought in a new 1st XI in the summer.
Yes, this is so true. Sunderland spent some £165 million on 14 new players.

Not quite sure how they managed that within the rules , but there is little noise that they have breached those rules.

So if we get promoted sometime, I can't see a new XI.

So for me it's to have a damn enjoyable ride getting there; don't bankrupt us in new players but have a decent window; fight like hell for 10 points (Derby) but aim for 30+ points ( the new "40"); if relegation beckons, happily take the money ; and then start over again from a stronger base.

Is that what the Burnley story is all about ?

9 out of 13 seasons in the PL for Burnley with 4 automatic promotions from the Championship mixed in - wouldn’t be surprised to see them top 2 again next season.

Seem to be a bit stuck between being too good for one league and not good enough for the other atm, but there’s far worse places to be stuck in the football pyramid!

I know its about Burnley but on the topic of Leeds you have to feel for Piroe

Top scorer in the Championship last season, he hasn't started a game since the 2nd game of the season and was immediately demoted to bench duties in favour of Ngonto and even further down the pecking order when Calvert-Lewin arrived.

Never given a chance to adapt to the pace of the Premier League
But would be top of many manager's wishlists for the Championship after his four seasons combined for us and Leeds

Piroe never was premier league standard. No pace, too hesitant and insufficient power. As FBC said, pace, anthleticism and power are trump cards. Shame really.

Really good point. Leeds also brought in multiple new players, the side is a lot more physical and it’s helping them compete. Dan James can’t get a start these days.

In fairness to Dan he's just come back from a lengthy injury
