Other than the right back issue, him and Ben are definitely the weak spot in the team. He’s decent enough at defending high balls into the box, but other than that I’m not sure.

Is Burgess the issue, is it Ben or is it both have too many weaknesses?
Do you think they're both carbon copies of each other when it comes to the type of players they are?

I get the feeling they don't compliment each other.

Him or Burgess should have been marking Agyemang for his goal he's a big lad and was virtually left to waltz in and power a header straight in.
Burgess often seems to come out second best when up against a physical striker

Look at the extended highlights of yesterday 4:24 BC casual clearance leads to Derby's first that should have been punted much further up field.

Cabango was marking him all game but somehow is Burgess' fault for the goal.
Odd.

It depends on their game instructions I suppose Ben seems a lot more comfortable on the ball and more of a goal threat, for Burgesses size he doesn't look like he imposes himself in front of goal, he looks way off premier league standard when you consider that he has played there if only briefly.

I was quite excited when we signed him.

After three quarters of a season, I’m less so.

A bit too similar to Cabango for an ideal 2nd tier pairing, but I’m probably in the minority (judging by comments on here and conversations in the ground) in being happy with him as a centre half at this level for the next few years - even as a top 6/8 team.

Even when he wasn’t playing well towards the end of Sheehan’s reign he was clearly a leader on and off the pitch and we’ve been sorely lacking in those for years.

You missed out where I said him [Cabango] or Burgess should have been marking him at NO point did I say Burgess was at fault!
I wasn't having a go at you, just making the general point from yours.
No need to be so touchy.

I don't think you're on your own, as individual players I like them both. I just have my reservations about them as a pairing.
