This is a horrendous situation for all concerned whichever side you’re on.

I feel the most angst for the unarmed and innocent men women and children that are caught up in all of this.

Are we really living in the 21st Century, as it was supposed to be the century where we as the human race were going places.

Instead all I can see, based on where we are heading at the moment, is yet another century of bloodletting, and for what exactly?

Never mind regime change, what’s needed is a sea change in the mindset of the powers that be, as all they seem to be doing is beating the war drum of what should be a bygone era.

Democratically elected or not, a sizeable number of these so called political/religious leaders across the world are bloodthirsty, power-hungry warmongering lunatics.

The US has got its very own despot at the moment, and he’s proven again that these people that gain power, whether it be by military force or through democratic means, are nothing but trouble for the rest of us.

It’s profoundly ironic and deeply troubling that, when Harold Macmillan paraphrased Winston Churchill by stating that “Jaw, jar is better than war, war.”, he was quoting a man who lived through World War II, a war that was devastating for a great many of the people on this planet.

What I ask myself now, whilst the war in the Middle East rages, is have we as a species learnt nothing since those times, where everyone felt a profoundly sincere and primal determination to never go to war again?

Those with power start wars, those without pay the price. The lid has been taken off the latest can of worms and its impossible to put it back on, Trumps idea that Iranians can just take power and start a nice friendly democracy is deluded to the point of insanity, great deflection from the epstein files tho, no mention of Andy and many this week....
