Just to close off this thread, got back to the car this pm at Gatwick and no problem, started first time on the button. No warning messages or unexpected flashy lights.

Still don't know why the alarm kept triggering for definite, but as we had parked so early, before the days flights really got underway, I didn't realise until we got back today that we were parked really close to the runway threshold so I suspect it was simply the vibrations caused by low aircraft that was setting the alarm off.

Back home now and looking forward to seeing family, including our 6 month old first granddaughter, in Swansea this weekend!

Thanks to all here who offered advice and help.

Give or take a few bays, I was parked opposite you on the other side of the fence.

Sort of on topic. I was stopped for a few minutes doing some work paperwork engine off, key in ignition so light stayed on. Went to start the car, dead as the proverbial dodo. Got out looking really pissed of and the guy in the car next to me asked if I wanted to try is battery starter (think he just wanted to try it out). Took him a couple of seconds to connect it and engine started like a dream. Think he said it cost him 40 quid but what a great peice of kit. No need for jump leads anymore!

Interesting, I might investigate one of these.

Incidentally were you stopped with the Aircon running? Seems odd that the battery would have run down so much in just a few minutes?

Bought myself a battery boost like that a few years ago. I’ve never had to use it but it’s in the boot ready if I do. Just keep the charge topped up every so often and I usually do this before I take the car on long trips in case I need it when away from home. It comes with built in lights which can be used independently. I’ve got the GB20 model, this model not suitable for diesels. Others are. See link below.

Might have had the aircon on but cant say for any certainty. Didn't realise the lights stayed on until that point

Also some aren't compatible if you have stop/start.
