Yeah, sorry, you’re right. I was thinking it had just come in this month but it’s delayed.

So £20k a year savings then is tax free for now.
Even better news for savers.

And to be frank, anyone paying significant tax on interest earned needs to pay a bit more attention to how they manage their wealth.

Talking of tax.

Are these the people Reform supporters want running the country? Really? Common or garden tax dodgers?

"Oh yea but, no but....anyone can make a mistake".

Is that why he employed highly paid accountants, to make mistakes? Or was it to hide his tax liabilities in shell companies?

Treating us all with contempt, as usual.

There's probably loads of politicians trying to fiddle things, no doubt some are getting away with it whilst others get caught, corrupt greedy bastards.

It's not exclusive to Reform, the majority of them are bending the rules if not breaking them.

The UK spent over 11% of GDP on the NHS n 2024 whereas it spent 2.8% in 1955. Basically spent 242 billion pounds in 2024. That money has to come from somewhere.
The figure to repair the potholes in England and Wales is 18.6 billion. At least this government is trying to clear the backlog.
The shitshow that existed for so many years is over and the Labour government are getting the blame. The right wing media are going to town on misinformation and a lot of what we can describe as blantant lies. Starmer is not helping himself but such is the force of social media whatever he does or doesnt do he his hung drawn and quartered for. The next policy change that he doesn't do a u-turn on when people will be screaming at him to do so will make him stubborn and doesn't listen

Most politicians treat us with contempt. In truth, they don't give a flying f**k about anyone else except themselves.

I know Smurph just speaking generally about politicians, how many have been caught fiddling of other from various parties over the years, its not unique to any party unfortunately.

A case of double standards as well, all depending on the colour of the rosette.

Starmer's so bad it makes me yearn for Johnson and Truss and May and Cameron.

On second thoughts it doesn't. I'll take him over any of those even though he's not very good at politics.

Part of the problem is that we aren’t use to governments governing because for about ten years and definitely since the EU referendum the last successive governments and prime ministers did very little of it. Your mileage will vary of course on how well this one is governing but at least it actually is making decisions and doing stuff , for better or worse.
