Wot, no FA Cuppp final thread?

Probably the most indifferent I've felt about an FA Cup Final ever. Used to love it when I was a kid and probably didn't miss one until I was in my late 30s but I've only watched a few since then and for context, my late 30s ended in 1992. Paid absolutely no attention to yesterday's and didn't even know the score or result until I overheard an EE employee mention it while I was waiting for my sister to get a new phone and contract. Should have always been the last match of the entire season but it's been devalued in lots of ways other than that over the last 30 years or so. ☹️

Just watched 5 minutes of highlights on YouTube. Good goal and got the impression Chelsea might have had a pen or two but tbh I don't care one bit, Twats v Twats IMO.

Woke? In what sense?
In the sense that I was taking the piss deliberately misusing the term, because everything is termed woke these days of someone doesn’t agree with it.

For someone, read right wing headbangers.

The rot started in the mid 90’s as both the Premier League and the Champions League grew in stature. However, the demise was accelerated when Man Utd pulled out in whatever year it was; a proper middle finger up to the competition.

The most insane thing about Man United pulling out to take part in the FIFA Club World Championship is that it was the FA themselves who requested they do so. They thought it would boost their (non-existent) chances of hosting the 2006 World Cup and instead they managed to do massive harm to their own flagship competition.

I didn’t realise that the FA were the push behind it.
