• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Your First Ever Game At The Vetch !?

Pearce had left Wealdstone a few years earlier. Not sure if they had any household names at the time, maybe Andy Wallace who went on to play for Yeovil later on.

Your First Ever Game At The Vetch !?

That game actually started and we were 2-1 up early in the second half, when the ref abandoned that. We won the rearranged match 4-1

Your First Ever Game At The Vetch !?

Swansea City 2-1 Walsall. Jan 1986. One week before a benefit game v Man Utd. From then on was hooked. As a side note, as I’m getting older, missing the Vetch even more!

    Southampton

We played back to back home games against Boro and Saints(I think) in April. Boro looked very ordinary and we should’ve beaten them. Saints had a bit more quality and we should’ve drawn with them. From both games and even when we played both away, Saints for me were the better of the two, so I...

Poor quality division. Look who ended up second??

    The playoffs.

All Boro so far. They’ll wipe the floor with Hull you’d think.

    Liam Manning

Nothing to do with the Swans. Just read that Huddersfield and him have mutually parted. I was reading an article about him in the guardian and the impact the loss of his son has had on him. He(Manning), also lost his own father when he was just eleven years old. I really hope he gets the...

    Bristol City new manager .

Like us and Preston, they are destined to finish in the championship mid table forever and ever!

Players we've hated but perhaps admired as well.

Bit before a few people on here I suspect, but two strikers. Steve Bull(Wolves) and Phil Stant. Both old school forwards who used to do well against us.

    Josh Key

One question being, why can’t Ronald beat his man? Sections of the crowd were booing him yesterday. I think a parting of the ways would be mutually beneficial to start with.

Joint 10th place (11th on GD)

He’s had 30 league games, won 14 and lost 11. A very creditable win rate of 46.67%. Over a 46 game league season that’s around 21/22 wins and surely enough to get into the play offs. And turn some of those narrow losses into draws(think WBA(a), Stoke, Hull and Millwall(a), Saints(h), then that...

    Joe Allen

Legends that they both are, I’m seeing this as a positive. Maybe Matos wants to bring in his own back room staff to take us to the next level, after stabilising this, with the likes of Leon and Joey helping out?

Sell VP For 20M (No Less)

Big question. Is Idah capable of filling Vips boots? Or do we make prioritising a striker ahead of other positions that need strengthening, notably centre back?

    Oxford

Remember when Jones ran into the away end when Luton won down here 1-0 a few years ago?As well as celebrating with the away fans, I think he rubbed our nose(s) a bit too. Be great too send him down and keep Oxford up!

    Championship Team Of The Season

Great achievement to have two players included, from a bang average team that we are. Well done Vip and Josh 👏
