New Manager

What current players would he speak to that was here the same time? Cullen, Bango, Naughton?
It's a good point.

Some times a fresh set of eyes gives a different perspective.

All joking aside on my behalf I'm quite looking forward to what happens between now and the end of the season.

Not that I think we are in danger of going down, at least we have something to play for.

In response to Mcburnie's comments.
He clearly only knows him as a footballer and friend and through other people who have had him as a coach at best.

It's a huge difference being a Manager than being a colleague. The buck stops with Sheehan and he will see a big difference as the players will likely see with him.

It's a short period of games so hopefully the factor that they like him might be enough to see it through until the end of the season. Long term I don't see it working in my opinion.

This in my eyes was the only logical outcome and should have been the case back when Sheehan was first instated as caretaker. One would have been supremely hard pressed to find a permanent coach of any real quality willing to take over with us in the position we were in.

Still after the Leeds game we have a run of far more forgiving fixtures, any kind of positive result against Leeds will be a good one, the worst case scenario is the relegation sides pick up some points and we go into Derby and Plymouth with only a 3 point gap between us and the bottom four.

Very impressed that we, as a forum, managed over 1,300 replies to a thread on a development that never ended up happening. Think we were more invested in it than the club!

Interesting to read that Sheehan thinks not many people wanted the job(Manager). It's not a suprise given our position but I think this appointment would have been made with a declaration that the job is his if he makes a good fist of it.
Giving in to him past the summer isn't my preferred option but if he does well then I think it's going to be his job going forward.

What article did you read this from? Out of curiosity. I would be shocked if many wanted the job at present due to not knowing if we will stay up or not, but I find it hard to beleive that even if it's managers who are not right for the club have not put their names forward. It's still a club irrelevant of options and past is an attractive role for the right manager to build a team many have written off, due to bad coaching.

WOL.

Only time he mentions others and the job is the below in which he says the exact opposite to what you claim..

I'm sure there's a lot of people that want this job
Nothing in that article says knowone wants the Job.

"Potentially," he responded when asked on that point. "I'm sure there's a lot of people that want this job. Right now, I'm the man who's been put in charge until the end of the season, and I'm incredibly privileged to be able to do that.

Is this the article you are referring to?

Not sure why magicdaps10 is saying knowone wants it. Unless I'm blind I have read it a few times. Someone please correct me. This is the opposite.

If anything giving him job till end of season tells you that they are keeping their options open. Not that they have resigned themselves. Not that I like to call people out but, if this was the case Sheehan would be permanent in the role now.

I'm sure that has been changed/edited.

The article has changed for sure, was quoted with him saying that he thinks not many people wanted the job.

I'm certain that was originally in there, if that is not the case then I put my hand up to that one.

Fair enough. Just thought it was bit strange 👍👍
