If as was reported yesterday that he would be willing to stay if we can find the right deal… we need to do it.

At the moment. We need to pay O’Brien and Darling what it takes to keep them.

This current squad isn’t far off challenging for play offs - we should be building around this team with Widdell coming in.

A couple more additions and we’d be a real force to be reckoned with.

We can’t tear this team up again.

Wonder how much they’d want for O Brien with him in the last year of contract, considering they payed 10M for him.

They (someone) has been teasing the LOB thing all this week and Darling too, something is afoot. It’s a little odd to be that Forest deem him not good enough, maybe he’s one of those ‘too good for the Championship but not quite good enough for the PL’ things? Anyway, feels a bit rich for us.

Forest went on that huge spending spree and bought about 48 players that summer. He's probably a victim of that as well.

I reckon he could do a job in the Premier League of given a chance. I'm not so sure Darling is up to the same standard though.

Agree with you that he's a bit rich for us unless he takes a hefty pay cut.

Both are championship players, just better than what else we have or had. I doubt either would get into Leeds’ team. Let’s not get carried away. We should offer them what they are worth to us on replacement cost, not what they want. We are much, much, too quick to over-rate and rubbish players (yes, me included, obviously).

I think Darling would be around £25k and LOB around £30k.

But there’s other ways of making the salary through signing on fees etc

Maybe just wishful thinking.
Anyone at the club offering Darling 25k per week needs a good kicking in the car park.

The thing about LOB is that he'll be 27 in October so he's no up and coming starlet that Prem clubs are likely to be sniffing around as one for the future. He's rumoured to be on £50K per week at Forest but it's unlikely he'd command that if he leaves Forest in the summer and if he stays in the Championship, he may have to take 35. So assuming we've saved 25 on Grimes, that's not really too much of a stretch especially if we get rid of deadwood too. He may get interest from the 3 promoted clubs who have seen him first hand though but if they don't show any interest, we could be in with a shout as he's clearly enjoying his football here as well as being the star man.

At least hopefully we would have our money worth out of him, which is more than you can say for Pederson.

I've a little hope for Darling at around a 60/40 spilt, but I just can't see it with O'Brien he's MOM every game in my eyes. probably the best Loanee we've ever had at the Swans, no one comes remotely close for me.

Sigurdsson?

Jeff Johnson?

Sigurdsson, De Guzman, Borini.

Sigi yes, forgot he was once on Loan here, can't remember Johnson to be honest, that Winger we had from the North Paul somin he was decent, but O'Brien for me has been immense since he's been here, he's helped massively to pull us out of the shit which was looking daunting thanks to he who shan't be mentioned.
