It certainly risks upsetting the apple cart in terms of the dressing room and the feel good atmosphere around the club at the moment if they go against Sheehan.
Maybe with the size of the squad rebuild needed, they feel a fresh manager would be like truly hitting the reset button?

Again, they (Montague and co) ignore this at their peril, especially with this dressing room.

You've only got to look at what happened when Martin left and Duff came in. Regardless of what the fans thought, RM was very well liked in these parts and when Duff came in with his Sgt Major schtick, they effectively downed tools to get him out.

If they choose Hellberg, they'd better be damn sure the squad are likely to like the cut of his jib, otherwise he's on a hiding to nothing.

This isn't me justifying excessive player power by the way - if I had my way, I'd tell the dissenters to sling their hooks - but that's the reality of football these days unfortunately.

Unfortunately easier to replace one man than a whole team.
But I wholeheartedly agree that there is generally far too much player power around in the game.

The logical way is to go with Shees.

The Swansea way (is to make a situation fubar, not style of play) would mean getting some tw@ like Barton or Colin W⚓️ in

So I have a mate in the media.
He's told me Sheehan has been pulled from the presser today - will just be Vigouroux.
Sheehan will face the media tomorrow instead.
Suggests some sort of announcement is imminent...
I did wonder why he wasn't in the conference. I presumed he did it and they delayed on releasing it till Friday. Let's say it's down to discussions, why it was pulled. Then it must be a sign he is getting it. If they wasn't gonna give it to him then they would of left him go do the press conference.

Thanks for the update, strange one as they usually leave Friday mornings before the game.
I didn't think of that. Of course, if it is going ahead tomorrow then he is nailed on. But maybe they don't do it now as they leave early tomorrow

It's a no-brainer to appoint Sheehan imo.

If it doesn't work out then they just sack him at some stage next season with hardly any finger pointing because the vast majority of fans would have done the same thing.

Appoint someone else, Sheehan goes elsewhere and does a great job and when the alternative bloke doesn't do very well then there'll be loads of flak.
I agree. Let's say it back fires. Then the club won't be blamed if and that is if... Sheehan fails. Then they can go out and get their man. But it's win, win at present. Why risk it. I do feel that as Sheehan has been amongst the players for a few years he has massive advantage that many managers will not have. Time.... He knows the team, the weakness and the strengths and has the upper hand. It only makes sense to build on this

Smart move is to give it Sheehan to build on momentum and appease fans

Smartest move is to also have their original preferred choice lined up to step in if and when

Would create a great buzz for the supporters travelling to Millwall and a party atmosphere plus give an incentive to players to perform (even thought hey shouldn't need it)
