Anyone watched their Brynmelyn podcast? Extremely grim / sad viewing. I never knew that area was called Brynmelyn either.

There’ll be a few on here who recognise some of the locals they speak to. The audio is poor when they film in The Full Moon pub, but large parts of it is worth a watch.

It’s another world within our world.

The old Brynmelyn pub was a favourite of my bruvs back in the day. They had rock and roll nights.

I haven't watched and wont as it would no doubt depress the shit out of me, but I expect you'd see the same in Townhill Bony/winch wen, etc. A stupid, offensive, nasty, hopeless, feral non-society suffered by many stranded decent people. Plenty of that elsewhere too of course. Nothing is as bad as I saw in Edinburgh.

That makes for grim viewing. You have to feel for the ordinary folk who live in and around these issues. It’s basically a no go area as soon as it gets dark.

The worst part for me was the young lady. Being a father of two girls, I couldn’t begin to imagine how the parents of her must feel. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a vulnerable looking female in my life, truly heartbreaking 💔

You should watch it, and also consider that it was filmed on a Sunday afternoon as well.

Agree, awful to see.
It's a reflection on society I suppose, that I'm lucky enough to live in Derwen Fawr and about 4 miles away there are people living on a completely different planet.

I dont know whether to be sad or angry.
Isnt it just so easy to turn a blind eye, or just ignore the fact that this situation is happening right on our doorstep. I'm just as guilty, most of us are, just carry on with our nice lives and forget about it, yes that's the best, isnt it. What will we do, probably sweet FA, me included, I wish I was a better person.

I watched it last night. Looks a bit of a no go area.

I was thinking of what that chap said at the start( the ex boxer) with regards to Brynmelyn and Greenhill, I was always under the impression, that Brynmelin was a separate entity to Greenhill? From what I remember, I thought Greenhill was just up a bit on Carmarthen Road, it was a hell of a lot different there back in the early 70s, although I was only very young, I seem to remember there being a pub on the corner, Angel? more or less opposite where that Pharmacy is.

Edit. got a bit sidetracked there, the reason I mentioned the pub the angel, because that’s where I was told Greenhill started from, going up Carmarthen Road.

Truly terrible. Regardless of what she’s done it’s someone’s daughter.

I’ve seen three different people post that one of the men that appeared in this video died last night. I’ve known him since we were around 10 years old. A very troubled soul.

Watched it the other night truly eye opening and sad, probably the worst one I’ve seen Cullen do, which one was called Psycho?

Watched the video this morning. When it mentioned Brynmelyn I thought it would be somewhere in the Valleys as someone else pointed out above I didn't realise that area was called Brynmelyn.

My friends mum lived in Dyfatty flats in the mid 70's and it was a damp depressing place then.

Saddest part was that young girl off her head. What she must go through on a daily basis must be awful.

The guy who said his name is Psycho is Carl Mole who lived in Briton Ferry for several years.
He passed away yesterday.
I was talking to him outside Swansea railway station about a month ago.
Had a chat and then he said “I’ve got to go home Dar I’ve got to take the wife for a walk and shag the dog.
Sad! 🥲

I know what I’m saying is a bit silly in legal terms etc but someone should literally kidnap her and take her somewhere safe and help her.
