Summer Transfer Window

If we need 2 players for each position , we will need
Vig Fisher GK Ok
Key Parker RB Ok just
Cabango Burgess Santos CB - need 1 more who can cover LB too
Tymon LB see above OK just -Dobrowski?
Franco Fulton Galbraith Widdell `Cooper CM Ok-could do with 1 more
Inoussa Ronald Eom Ginnelly W OK
Cullen Yates Vipotnik Wales Need 1 more as Yates off
Looks like we need a LB//LCB cover,( or a specialist LB) a striker and a utility MF
Unless we use Cotterill, Congreve as cover
Expect to see a number players wanting to leave on loan or perm when they don't play
C+C Yates Parker Ginnelly
Ideally Oli McB in at CF
Wtf is Fulton doing in there? 🙄

Everyone sees different things, personally I see a player who’s underperformed but with the right manager, system and players around him, is more than capable of doing a job.
I am an optimist though.
"I am an optimist though"

Optimist wasn't the word I was thinking of. . . . . .

I know he’s on a big contract but it hasn’t helped, for the last god knows how long, everyone from the keeper to the striker has been under strict instructions to pass it to the bloke next to you.
I think he’ll come good and won’t let us down.
God forbid he gets the opportunity, we've moved on 🙄

What confuses me the most is how so many fans ignore the fact Fulton slows the game down, fouls because he cannot control or keep up and loves a good back pass. Cooper was the reason he got another contract. He is the last player that is a reminder of what we should move on from. Sadly he will be with us this season. Knowone is gonna pay his wages.
I always try to study a player carefully to see what he offers before writing them off. There are 2 players who literally are not equipped to perform their function. One is Yates - no pace, no physicality and no movement (literally hides behind defenders).
The other is Fulton.. He is ultra conservative with his passing, and when he looks more than 5 yards forward he turns over possession. But worse than that is his inability to anticipate danger and track runners. he is constantly letting opposition midfielders get beyond him, and by the time the penny drops he is making lunging tackles.
Ca n see him as a substitute occasionally - as long as the game is kept in front of him - but on his salary we should absolutely be trying to get him off the payroll.
As mentioned - his salary is not his fault, but we need players that could challenge a starting jersey - and with the best will in the world - if we are starting Fulton regularly we are fooked

Very optimistic, he's our longest serving player and he's underperformed for the entire time he's been here
He played quite a few premier league games for us and I can’t particularly remember him letting us down. He got sent off in the play off final vs Brentford but he was one of the very few actually trying that day.
It think it’s a massive injustice to Fulton how Grimes was lionised by 75% of our fans when he hardly broke sweat for us. He was a yes man to 3 managers who prioritized him over Fulton just because he sucked up to them like some school head boy.

Are you insane? Is the name Matt Grimes not familiar to you?

in recent years our overall mantra has been walking football through a midfield designed to slow the game down. By that very description Fulton did the job that was asked of him

As others have said if we want to be better then we need to do it without the likes of Fulton

Watching Fulton now is like a one paced horse.. he did have his moments his defensive display at Leeds and offensive play at Plymouth but it's all too fleeting. We are moving away from the safe 6 yard backward pass at walking pace and now looking to get the ball earlier must quicker.

Considering his physicality, he has lost that impact and become increasingly undisciplined in his tackles.

The times last season receiving the ball totally unmarked then passing backwards when he could have driven forward into space was really annoying to watch.

Served the club well no doubt but we need to move on and evolve with new talent.

Time to move on for Jay, 31yr old and not even a player who is one of the first names on the team sheet....given his time with us and experience then that should raise questions.

I think he will ride out his final year on big money then have a sign on fee next summer.
