This is nice to hear but does it really mean anything? If he had taken over last season with them down and out and put up a good fight and then started this season strongly, then I would be intrigued by him. He has managed 11 league games, won 6 and scored 13 goals. How can that be described as him completely changing things, for a side that has just been relegated and are one of the biggest sides in the country. It would be like saying Martin completely transformed Southampton when they were relegated. That is just a random portuguese fan so no offence to him but he also says their team is of a low Championship level which we know is not true. For better or worse, no executive, fan or anyone in football can be sure he is good based on just 11 games. After 20 games Swansea fans may have been rational to think Sheehan was the man to lead them forward.

I did not think Sheehan was going to be our coach long term but I worried exactly this would happen if we sacked him. Sheehan would not have gotten us relegated, we may have just been stuck in low midtable. Under Matos I think anything could happen and you would be a dreamer to say there is zero chance we end up with a 3rd manager this season.
They got relegated a season and a half ago and finished 18th last season in their current league

Comedy gold….twelve games, aye let’s give him a shot…not happening Coco.
Awful attitude, he might be too young (but same age as Helberg), too new to management, but there's no doubt we need a manager with that attacking mentality and organisational skills (something Sheehan didn't have). You sound like you have the answer to everything, something tells me that you don't. Maybe a touch less dogmatic on your part would work better?

We did that with Williams and that was a disaster , and he had a supposed “track record”.
Are you really saying that you would never consider hiring a manager from League One? WentToSchoolWith made a good case for Challinor (Stockport, 1st in L1) and Skabula (Lincoln, 2nd in L1), so they both have good track records, and are only 7 or 8 places below us.

I have no idea if either would be a good match for us but our recruitment team should at the very least be mindful of them.

To do worse than Sheehan this season he’d have to scrap with the players at half time

Ah, ok.

The reason that the Board are important here btw (which is why I thought you were making the point you did) is because they are the ones that actually sign off recommendations made to them by Gorringe etc. and I’m not sure they would have the expertise to say ‘no’.

It seems to me that we have little football expertise making these decisions.

Gorringe is an administrator and Worth is not a football person by profession either.

If someone was a football person at the top it doesn’t matter so much as they could act as a sense check. (I would be surprised if Modric is involved to such an extent he contributes here).
In fairness though Lisa we in reality had little football expertise ( apart from being fans and playing Welsh League) at board level during our recent "glory" years where we did make a few good left field appointments....and also some disasterous ones.
Interestingly the appointment of our last manager to gain any success...was driven by 3 football persons ,Trevor Birch,Curt and Leon.
That all said we do have a footballer as a shareholder maybe he is consulted?

In the early days of the ‘glory years’ we had people like Mel Nurse and similar around. The Board acquired a hell of a lot of football knowledge as we went through the divisions. By the time we reached the championship and then the premier league there were years and years of experience between Huw, Dids, MM etc. towards the end the issue came when they started to think the6 had more football knowledge than people like Laudrup.

I mentioned Modric, but to be fair, his involvement in the club is limited at the moment by his full time employment at Milan.

Was Mel consulted much Lisa?
I had nt considered his input...and Curt was around so I suspect HJ might have sought his advice at times I suppose

Probably about as much as I was mate, the amount of rubbish ( including myself ) written in this thread is frightening.

Mel was a director of the club just before the takeover and was very much around in the early years of the new set up / Trust.

People like David Farmer were also around. From memory he was club president following the takeover. He’d been on the board for some years before that.

Other than his current club Hellberg doesn't stats don't look amazing. Maybe I'm bitter. But win rate in last 2 roles are poor to average.

IF Sylvia - Games 30 - Won 11 - Drew 5 - Lost 14 - Win Percentage 36.67%

IFK Varnamo - Games 65 - Won 26 - Drew 13 - Lost 26 - Win Percentage 40%

Hammarby IF - Games 73 - Won 41 - Drew 15 - Lost 17 - Win Percentage 56.16%

Even when he retires, it is very unlikely that Modric will have much to do with the clubs day to day running. Just like most of the minority owners of sports teams.
