I wouldn't be taking any cheques from Reading. Cash or card only.
If we can get a fee for him and break even against signing on fee/wages, that's a complete win for the club.
This is not the case - loss taken on Santos and an acknowledgement it did not work and they would rather not wait until the summer in the hope there is a taker for the second year of his deal. The intention this summer is to sign a defender capable of challenging Burgess and Ben with less resources devoted to so-called reliable players who will never be trusted as starters or future starters.
Would they be paying more for Santos?
Nothing official or suggested by reputable reporters or outlets. Only a few posts on twitter and forums suggesting a fee.
Got a decent chunk from Harvey Knibbs also.Reading were taken over last May and didn't they receive a sizeable sum off Wrexham for Sam Smith.![]()
Reading FC: Rob Couhig completes takeover of League One club
Reading's takeover by ex-Wycombe Wanderers owner Rob Couhig is complete, the club has announced.www.bbc.co.uk
Indeed, good luck to the lad but at least he'll have the consolation of playing in the World Cup this summerHe was always going to be cover, decent signing at the time on a free with a load of experience, very unfortunate he picked up that knock when he did.
If he signs for Reading, good luck to the lad.
Amazing achievement for them as a countryIndeed, good luck to the lad but at least he'll have the consolation of playing in the World Cup this summer
Some people are really negative about a player who was signed for cover/in case other deals fell through and who barely saw the pitch for us, which is exactly what we would have wanted when we signed him. If we can get a fee for him and break even against signing on fee/wages, that's a complete win for the club.
