• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

If we can get a fee for him and break even against signing on fee/wages, that's a complete win for the club.

This is not the case - loss taken on Santos and an acknowledgement it did not work and they would rather not wait until the summer in the hope there is a taker for the second year of his deal. The intention this summer is to sign a defender capable of challenging Burgess and Ben with less resources devoted to so-called reliable players who will never be trusted as starters or future starters.

Can't fault a fake ITK poster with the sole intention of undermining the club, forums full of them at the moment.

He is a 4th choice CB, so not sure what you mean by it hasn’t worked. The club signed him for free and sold him for £300k+ after 6 months, and since signed another one for free. If we are offered £300k+ for Ward I am sure we will sell him too, that’s what trading clubs do.

Would Reading be paying a fee for him given their financial issues?
I believe they paid a fee for a player for around 200k in the summer, it was the first time they paid a fee for a player for around 5/6yrs.

Would they be paying more for Santos?

He was always going to be cover, decent signing at the time on a free with a load of experience, very unfortunate he picked up that knock when he did.

If he signs for Reading, good luck to the lad.
Indeed, good luck to the lad but at least he'll have the consolation of playing in the World Cup this summer

Amazing achievement for them as a country ❤️

Some people are really negative about a player who was signed for cover/in case other deals fell through and who barely saw the pitch for us, which is exactly what we would have wanted when we signed him. If we can get a fee for him and break even against signing on fee/wages, that's a complete win for the club.

The money we are wasting on duff players

The money we are wasting on players wages that don’t contribute to the first team, has to be a big concern going forwards.
This has to be down to the recruitment set up in the first place.
It’s false economy to skimp on the expertise required, to run it efficiently.
You’d like to assume the grown ups trust the set up they have in place.
In our case, I hope he’s Worth it
