Oooooh

Let's say we need 2 more wins. To keep championship football. Let's face it, irrelevant of recent performances, there is little doubt that we can't do this and easily as well. We would be pretty aweful if we didn't win at least 2 or 3 games until end of season. And the team is not dreadful. Poor at times, but not dreadful.
We have eleven games left, looking at the fixtures I would say Stoke and Charlton are our best bets for gettIng those two wins, our away form is pretty awful so I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t get much from those especially as all our opponents are fighting for something.
Let’s see what happens on Saturday, it’s surprising how quickly a points cushion can evaporate in this league.

50 points always seems to be the target for safety but never a guarantee. We are 4 points off the 50 with 11 games to play.
I think it would take a monumental collapse from us and I don't think that will happen but I do believe we may have a bit of a struggle in the last quarter of the season.
In recent seasons we have finished strong and looking at the fixtures then I think we are going to find it tough to keep that trend going.

We will be ok but I do think that we are in danger of having our lowest finish in the championship.

I’ve already said that I don’t think we’re going to go down, but, the remaining fixtures are incredibly tough, a real litmus test for Matos, we could easily end the season on a low by losing the majority of those games and that would bring all sorts of problems.

Surprising how quickly fans and opinions can turn.

i agree and now this for me is the time that the coaches really earn their pay, our away form is abysmal to say the least and its this part of our season that sees us where we are, why? who knows as i have said other streams there are NO easy games in this div so every game needs to be well planned in advance and EVERY player fully focused for each 90 mins plus, take your eye off the ball for a second and we slip up and whilst hoping not possibly down the table as well

Some fair points there but our run in last season was very good that then saw us appoint Sheehan full time....it was a strong end to the season.
The summer and the start of the season was poor.

Fans opinions changed very quickly in 3/4 months in that scenario so I don't rule out anything these days.

It’s not just the fixtures it’s the order they come in that’s daunting, I don’t remember an end of season schedule as tough as this one.

Again I don’t think we’ll get sucked in but you never know, predictions of 15-18 points from our last eleven games is way off the mark in my opinion.

I think people are working off Matos ratio of 1.5 points per game which isn't a given and should never be taken as granted either.

If he gets 15-18 points then he and the squad will have done very well.

Cannot believe what I'm seeing. Spent a day away from this forum and come back to people genuinely speculating that we could go down. We are TWELVE points above relegation with eleven games to play - come on!?

While It's not a given, it should be the target. And based off of what we've seen so far with Matos and the teams we're playing against I don't think it's a ridiculous expectation. I think it's way more likely to be getting 15 points than it is to be worried about being relegated.

Equally you could say just because we've had a couple of below par performances in a tough week of fixtures it is not a given that those struggles will continue.

If we're making predictions, I'll say we'll finish somewhere around 12th-14th and with a points total closer to the playoffs than the relegation places.

Last I read on Idah was that he was expected back this month, which gives us a genuine option up-front, especially when Vipotnik needs a rest. Having Inoussa back for the final month or so would also be a bonus, not sure if that's happening though.

Honestly it's baffling. One bad performance against a team who will probably go up and now suddenly we are back in a relegation battle.

Do the teams below also have to pick up points in their games I agree we are not safe but a lot safer than the bottom 3

Teams below us need to win at least 50% of their remaining fixtures to get anywhere near us. To date the team 3rd from bottoms have won 29% of their games to date. We also need to factor in us not picking up any further points at the same time.

If I'm being cynical and taking the OP's posting history in to consideration this thread is nothing more than an attempt to wind people up.

Happy to be proven wrong.
