I'm back at Fratton Park again.. freebie ticket in the home end quite near the Derby end.

Derby playing 4 strikers 😬

Front 4 same that played against us ,
Brewster & Bereton Diaz play wide ,
Smozdics number 10 .

They are right in the mix now. Their remaining game in hand is Ipswich. Going to be a hell of a dogfight for the remaining two places.

Some of our fans could learn a lot about getting behind the lads.
I was musing on this the other day, when thinking about the booing at half time mob, which has to be one of the worst feelings for the players when they trudge off to the dressing room, as they then have to get a team talk from the manager with that ringing loudly in their ears.

I would say that it would be far better for the fans who choose to do this, to shout “Come on Swansea, Come on Swansea!” at them as a form of encouragement to do better in the 2nd half.

This, combined with the pep talk that they will get at half time behind the scenes, would be far more beneficial to them than the counterproductive booing that they currently receive.

It would tell them that, despite the frustration the fans are feeling, they are fully behind and supportive of them, and would dearly love to see an improvement in the 2nd half.

In the past, I used to balk at the idea that the players would be affected by such things as being booed off the pitch. After all, they are supposed to be consummate professionals, who should be adept at brushing these things off.

This was due to the fact that I didn’t fully appreciate that there is an all important psychological/emotional component to the professional footballer as a whole, which is largely overlooked by us as fans.

Since then, my appreciation of this idea has grown to a point where I’ve come to fully realise that, without question, our players are not automatons who are devoid of feelings. In fact, these feelings are very real to the individual concerned, and they can be altered one way or another, through demoralisation or encouragement.

So, the metaphorical helping hand of “Come on Swansea!”, is by far, a far better way of motivating the troops as they make their way to the dressing room at half time, than that of the metaphorical unhelpful foot that kicks them while they’re down.

They should thank their lucky stars that they don’t see what is written about them by the match day thread heroes on here every week. Enough to turn the milk sour.

Have a look at last night game between Tranmere and rock bottom Harrogate, Tranmere are 3 down at home before half time, and the crowd have turned. What were they supposed to do ? applaud and say well done lads. Rotherham have had a stinking season and lost away at Peterborough last night 5-0, what were their travelling fans supposed to say after paying decent money to travel there, oh unlucky lads. The likes of Bradley, Williams and Sheehan have all been dismissed after the crowds turned on them , which in those instances was a good thing, otherwise they may have been given far more time than they deserved and inflicted even more damage . Football fans are loyal to the point of stupidity, how many crap performances have you seen over the years, and unbelievably, some people are still applauding the players off. Crazy. When the Italians lost to North Korea in the 1966 world cup ,and were eliminated, they faced a barrage of rotten tomatoes 🍅 on their arrival home. More of that we should have.

Supporting the team isn't for everyone

Half of them on here enjoyment more when we lose, gives them a platform to moan.

One of these "supporters" you've highlighted in your excellent post has just posted a couple up from this.

They aren't worth the time of day.

This is a multimillion pound institution, they're living their "dream".. but a premier league football team will give thousands in Swansea to live "their" dream, the economy in Swansea will become stronger, educational institutions will attract.. and it all relies on showcasing ourselves in a world wide market.. you can go to the football and blindly follow like an idiot, but anyone with a decent IQ score knows the implications involved.. it's not just a football game, it's people's livelihoods on the line.. this is why people are not turning up you see smurphy, they know, they're not daft

you can tell your third cousin removed played in the inter toto cup.

I don't understand the big deal about this!
Why can't fans give a constructive criticism or even a criticism if it has substance without a special few getting upset about it!?
Fans have moaned and cheered for their team for well over 100 years......it's nothing new!

This superiority fan complex is embarrassing for god sake! If people just cheer and don't wish to say anything bad/negative then well done you 👍

I could go further into things but I would be wasting my time.
