• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Good to see Joel Piroe called up for Suriname
Ahead of the World Cup Play off campaign .
Qualifies on his Dad's side ,
Should be a good addition .

Similar to Ashley Phillips with us (it hasn't happened yet) but its a bit sickening that these players suddenly have pangs of hiraeth (or whatever the Surinamese version is) only upon the eve of a world cup.

Sickening is a bit harsh. The opportunity to play at a World Cup has to the pinnacle of a professional footballer career along with playing in an European cup final.

Anyone given the chance to do so would find it hard to turn down. I'd suspect they'd be lying to themselves if they said they wouldn't.

I see no merit whatsoever in playing at a world cup for a country that in reality you aren't particularly familiar with or have that much affection for (Piroe has had years to commit to Surinam). Let alone also playing zero part in the qualifying for said tournament.

individual achievement ahead of being actually proud to represent nation goes against the whole ethos of international team sport.

First whiff of a call up and you'd be all over it.

Listen up, even the mighty England would have no hesitation of calling a player up if he was good enough, even if said player was born on the moon, facktamundo...

He's been called up to the squad, never getting in the Netherlands team, dad from Suriname, no brainer, don't see the problem

Anyone turning their nose up at the chance to play in a World Cup needs to have a word with themselves.
