• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Absolutely not. I can’t even have an eye test without having streaming eyes. My mate had an eye op a few weeks ago and I had watery eyes just listening to him tell me about the procedure.

Not yet, waiting until I retire in 10 years time, a few friends have had a full lens replacement and it has transformed their vision and colour awareness. One of my friends joins me now and then in the Upper South stand and he can see everything going on in detail in the goal area at the north stand.

How long since he's had it done?

My auntie had laser eye surgery over 10 years ago.. she doesn't wear glasses now, but some people she knows started losing their vision after a few years
I was told bit earlier by a Nurse who calls here for my youngest, that a friend of hers had them done, but only lasted about 3yrs.

You should take a really good look at google on this, I’m quite surprised at some of the things I have read regarding eye surgery, it’s certainly not for me! There are 2 considerations here, firstly do I need it done, and secondly the cost.

I wear hearing aids and with my glasses off and on in work etc, they're a fuking pain, but I'm not gonna payout for a process that's not gonna last.

What about contact lenses. I've been wearing them for over 30 years (not the same pair). They made a huge difference as I am a Techy and was for ever pushing my glasses back up on my noses when working looking down.

Mrs wears them, 28 quid a month, I told her she's be better off looking into laser/lenses plus it seems like they have caused a little cist on white of her right eye, user error perhaps opticians have told her to carry on using them.

I can't wear them because I only need glasses for reading and closeup work etc.

I almost went blind from the use of contact lenses about 10 years ago, never touched them since
