• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

From what I read, Walta is on a bulk up (Strength) program. He clearly needs to get up to speed with the championship. It's happened with VP, Eom, Widell etc. Patient needed.
Yep, I think Sheehan played a blinder in putting Melker on the sidelines for a while. He's been a totally different player since. Can see similarities here with Walta

I really hope so. In the meantime, another game on the bench for him.

Think this game was too intense to introduce Walta, but I'm desperate for him to get minutes at Leicester and hopefully for the rest of the season. I think he'd have likely come had we have been a couple of goals down, but if he's still physically bulking up, I can see the reasons for leaving him out today.

Wonder what our 'best midfield' would look like next season? Franco and Stamenic behind Walta, Widdell out wide?

I don’t put any stock in the appearance clause theory for Walta. I think Matos would have dropped him altogether if he didn’t rate him. There’s a reason he makes the bench and started for us against Preston. Matos probably saw him in that game and thought that he needed to bulk up a bit. End of the day, we’ve brought in a player who has just scored 16 and plays international football for Finland, he isn’t going to be rubbish. We just have to be patient.

Yes I would have liked to see Walta today, but that game and pressure from Boro was insane. Not the game to throw on a player getting used to the division. On side note, Cooper was sat next to him. His days look to be up with the club come the summer.
Today probably wasn’t the game I agree, but nobody is going to convince me that giving him zero minutes over the last 10 games of the season will benefit him next season.

Appreciate it takes time to adjust to the Championship, but if he’s with us next season I think we’ve wasted the opportunity to get him involved this year.

A very minor point today, but I’d be interested to hear the rationale. The reasoning of finishing a 30 game season in Sweden in November is long since past seeing as their new season has now started.

I have 0 clue to what is happening and you make a lot of valid points. But for all we know it could be a multiple of things. Even VP and a lot of others had issues to adjust, culture wise it's shock for any player to come in and make a impact. Yes he needs game time, but when that happens who knows. But I'm willing to wait.

He needs fat lads like us to get off his case on social media, copy and paste Widdel, Walta, Ben Parker.
Congreve, Cotterill, Lissah and Wilson might as well stay up up North 😆
Trust in Matos, trust the process, and absolutely give the young lads a break ffs.

No issues with giving him time to adjust and not judging his early performances.

As you say could be a host of reasons but not playing at all seems counter intuitive to me if we’re expecting to play a big part next year.

Anyway, this is all a bit negative after today so I’ll wait to comment again until the end of the season depending on how much he plays before then.
