• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Matos has had 26 games in charge of us in the championship, this time last year Sheehan would have been on 7/8. It’s a much larger sample size to make a judgement from.
Plus you've got what he did at Maritimo to go off

I’ve said for a while on here now that we’re not far away from top six under Matos. Much to the disbelief of others. Nice to see it properly visualised.

Hopefully it makes people realise we’re not quite the basket case they make us out to be.
It’s ignoring the first two matches though where we lost both?

Next season is the place to judge.

It also depends on the sample. Over the last 15 games we’re 7th. Over the last ten games we’re 9th. Over the last six we are 15th.

That tells a rather different story.

He’s done a good job in keeping us up, but our form against the teams that are in and around the play off places will have to improve an awful lot before we are anywhere near top six over a season.

I think the aim next season should be to break the top 10. It’s something we’ve not managed since Martin. Sides like Millwall, Coventry have improved gradually, increasing their position bit by bit with every transfer window. We need to become a nearly team before we even think about play offs.

Tbf I couldn’t see it had ignored the first two matches. Still he had been here less than a week for those first two matches so you can’t rest too much blame on him for those.

It’s fine margins, and it won’t take too much improvement to get us there, look how tight the table has been.

I completely agree with you.

I guess given it’s going to top 8 play offs we may be there or there about but we are a couple of season at least away from being ready in my view.

It will take careful selling and buying to get us there. Starting this summer.

Within our wins though are matches that have probably had the other team with a brand new manager or no manager / interim.

I don’t ‘blame’ him, it’s just selective to ignore them.

I get a feeling if we somehow... Make it near top 6 next year there still will be some moaning and sayings it's a fluke etc... Or if we are worse, Matos was wrong appointment. Can't please some... That's Football I suppose 😂⚽

Is it any more selective than ignoring those 24 games because it’s not Christmas?

It could be perfectly true also. 😁
