• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

I’ve just started reading the Lincoln Lawyer again after many years. We saw all the Bosch and Lincoln Lawyer tv progs and enjoyed them all. Have you read the Ballard books too?
Yeah, Ballard and Bosch, Harry's daughter. Great stuff.
I recommend Robert B Parker's Spenser novels. They may be quite old now but the dialogue is wonderful. Also early Harlan Coben's Myron Bolitar novels which are far and away his best work IMO.

Definitely read them in order, because there are recurring themes from one novel to the next. I buy em all secondhand from World of Books on tinternet.
First one is "Every Dead Thing".
Just ordered the first one £0:99p on Kindle 👍

O.J.: Made in America.

Really good documentary mini series. Think it’s like 10 years old now, so not a new thing. Did a good job of situating his life and infamous murder trial in the context of LAPD’s relationship with black citizens and the wider issues of race, celebrity and wealth.

When the trial happened originally, I was a teenager in Swansea and only knew him as Nordberg from Naked Gun..Since living in the states I actually learnt about his American football stardom and all the rest. Anyway, good, if occasionally gruesome, watch.

28 years later : The bone Temple....why! not watched the previous films but think I need to to put this film into context, don't watch if you haven't seen any of the other first, not that that will help as I don't know if they are any good

I’ve watched them all and I thought the Bone Temple was crap.
The first one, ‘28 Days Later’ was the best one.

28 Days later - 8/10
28 Weeks later 4/10. Pile of shite
28 Years later - 7/10
28 Years later The Bone Temple. Honestly enjoyed it as the best of the lot. Did something different with it. 9/10. 🤣

Opinions eh.

We watched that Michael Jackson documentary last night,I wasn’t aware of some of the accusations that had been made against him.
Fucking hell,astonishing.

For the past few nights, my wife watched (and I have been subjected to) Missed Call on C5. The biggest load of shite I have ever half seen (napped through a lot of it). Robert Lindsay and Rupert Graves cant be that hard up surely to God. I am ashamed to admit that even after the first 2 episodes, we both agreed it was utter rubbish but like idiots we CONTINUED????
I have taken one for the team. Don't bother.

Anyone watched For all mankind on Apple TV?

It's shown throw an alternative view on the space race where the Russians actually landed on the moon first and it;s progressed from there.

We watched about 20 minutes and that was enough.

I watched less than 2 mins and thought I can't be doing with this same old gash. Missus binged 3 of them and told me it was good. I won't be watching any more than that 2 mins.

My guilty secret is ex student told me to watch Addams family spinoff 'Wednesday' on Netflix. I've watched a few and I actually mostly enjoyed it. Half hour episodes would have been better but it's amusing brain free viewing.
