• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Great game yesterday and his defensive confidence has improved greatly from earlier this season.

Going forward, a far better option on the right to play in front of Parker next season.

Having those 2 down our right could prove a real threat which is sadly lacking at the moment.

He played very well yesterday.
It certainly opens up a lot of questions.

One question being, why can’t Ronald beat his man?
Sections of the crowd were booing him yesterday.
I think a parting of the ways would be mutually beneficial to start with.

I think his only tactic is to run straight at/into the defender hoping for a free kick.

Easy from the outside but I think it was a man management issue, as it was clear to anyone watching on matchdays that he needed a break and time out of the team/squad.

Surprised, as this time last year I’d have said that was one of Sheehan’s strengths but not taking Key out of the firing line in the Autumn made things worse IMO, and meant that it took him far longer to return to the player we saw in his first 18 months at the club.

Hopefully, as others have mentioned we’re pretty well stocked with him, Lissah & Parker.
Depending on if Lissah is seen as an option across the back 4 there’s still and argument that Parker having half a season out on loan as a starter in the EFL would be more beneficial - I think that decision should be left until August though when the rest of the squad is confirmed.

What I did like about Key yesterday and recently is his ability to just run with the ball. He has also stopped giving away the ball too much and has improved his defending. Thought him and Ronald got in a way of each other other though. I still like Parker in that role though as think he adds more defense

In Ronald's defense it was his dip of the shoulder and dribbling past his man that won the free kick that Walta scored from. He clearly has that ability but showcases it maybe one time out of twenty

Key runs forward with his head up looking for a player to pass to as with our opening goal yesterday.
Ronald rarely looks up and constantly kicks the ball at opponents hoping it will somehow pass through their bodies.

Ronald, it would be amazing to see him flourish, he has ability, good skills and is pretty decent in the air, but his decision making as an attacker at this level is woeful and it doesn’t appear that he’ll ever truly ‘get it’. Full credit to Key for his turnaround in form, well worth keeping as part of a solid right side.

Ronald is such an odd duck

The two hardest things in football for an attacker is being in the right place at the right time and putting the ball in the back of the net and both of those are extremely difficult to coach, a player either has it or he doesn't.

Ronald has an amazingly consistent ability to be in the right place for attacking opportunities to come his way, but his conversion rate of turning an opportunity into either a shot on target or making a key pass for another player to make an attempt on goal is shockingly low.

I agree with all of the positive above but personally would prefer to cash in on him and use our home grown talents - Parker (Proven ability) and Lissah (interesting to see how and where he can fit in)

I couldn't agree more. When he's one on one with a full back, his brain seems to freeze and he can't make his mind up to go left or right. There was a classic example yesterday where he was bearing down on their area on the right hand side and had the full back backpedalling, but instead of pushing it past him and sprinting, he did half a dozen stepovers and slowed down, ran into the defender and left the ball behind for the full back to gather and come away with.
Maybe a hypnotism session would help.

It shows how far we've come as we considered that Ronald was a bit of a marquee signing now he'd be first out of the door if many here were in charge.
