• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Hull v Millwall ..nothing on show, so far, to get excited about.

It's galling to see two such dreadful teams in this. Us, Forest, Cardiff and Reading were all so much better than this in the year we went up. It's atrocious stuff.

I’ve said for a while that I thought Ipswich & Southampton would go up - which doesn’t make it as galling for me looking at their squads, but this season was a great opportunity for 15-20 sides to make the playoffs - and many will see it as an opportunity missed (fair play to Hull & especially Millwall mind!)

That’s not to say we should have made it this season, but there aren’t many Championship seasons where there’s so little to choose from top to bottom.

In most Championship seasons the only real difference between teams in the playoffs and those lower down the table is finding consistent runs of form.

This season is probably a bit of an outlier in that the teams with Parachute payments aren't the clear frontrunners, but generally positions 4-6 are wide open. We certainly should have been closer than we were between 2021 and 2023. Probably would have been with competent management.

Middlesbrough vs Southampton lunchtime today .
Southampton have 3 ex Swans
Wood , Manning , Downes .
If you could would you have any back with us

I thought Wood looked like a far better player now than he did when he was with us and would definitely have him back in our team.

I would have said Manning if we didn't have Tymon and I would have had Downes back if we had less CM's and/or he hadn't acted like a twat down here.

Not sure who I want to win this one. Don't like Downes and Wood, but don't like Hellboy for spurning us either (though I'm now glad he did!).
I suppose it comes down to, who do we want rid of for next season? Saints, I suppose.

Yep Wood was a youngster who looked a good prospect who was sold to soon .
