And I stand by it. Your argument to the opposite is to refer to days… that have gone.

I’m talking about now. I am saying you won’t be getting teams relegated and walking the league now. It’s too competitive with cash spreading out to teams that wouldn’t normally have it. Saying it’s happened before doesn’t take away the fact that PL teams are not running away with the league.

They did, but the Premier teams are now struggling with the influx of money into the league. Two League One promoted sides with a larger budget than the majority of the league + the parachute teams. If Ipswich don’t win their game in hand they remain 4th, which is crazy considering their squad...

I think a good way to pressure test it is to see the performances of the Premier League relegation teams. The gap seems to get smaller every year between the top of the Championship and bottom of Premier League, long gone are the days of Newcastle getting nearly 100 points. In my opinion...

Yes, we would rather finish higher than lower, that’s a given. But points are a better indicator of how you have played over the course of a season and vs previous seasons. The comment about the league being weak was in reference to the usual line trotted out about the division, and one I see...

I completely agree that it’s better to finish higher than lower, but in terms of team performance, points haul is a better indicator. I actually don’t agree with the assessment that the league is weak, it gets stronger every year to a point that PL relegation teams with PL squads are no way...

It’s not better, because you got relegated. You would have played worse and survived the season previous though. Just as Vipotnik scoring 25 this season but getting beaten to the golden boot by someone scoring 26 is a better season for him than scoring 14 and getting the award.

Squad values: Ipswich €197m Swansea €81m People need to seriously get a grip of themselves.

Who has suggested what? You are out because I’m pouring cold water on your stupidity as usual. Let’s try again tomorrow then.

Why wouldn’t it take several windows? Why are we so special that we can have instant success?

But points is the strongest predictor of where you finish. The aim of football is to win games and get points, the more you get the better you are. Once you start looking at positions over points then you move away from how good you are and start taking into consideration results elsewhere...

Yes. Finishing in the relegation places would be more impactful to your club, but you would have done better amassing 50 points than the 46 you survived with the year before.

Relative peanuts. It hasn’t even got us into the top half when we look at squad value relative to others. Our squad was bare bones in the summer, 1 senior CB at the club. Our spend simply helped us to get to a point we could be competitive, it will take several windows to get us anything like...

It’s the position you finish that counts towards finishing positions but points will tell you how you have played in comparison to other years. If you finish 10th on 60 points on year and another you finish 11th on 65 points. You have done better in the year you get 65 points regardless of...

    Our spend was peanuts considering the state of the squad in pre season. 2025/26 - 45 points (-3 GD) 2024/25 - 41 points (-9 GD) 2023/24 - 42 points (-11 GD) 2022/23 - 43 points (-5 GD) 2021-22 - 45 points (-12 GD)
