    Wolves and West Ham

That’s fair enough, I think West Ham have a big enough fanbase/revenue to be a force in the championship especially if they spend the money well that they’d get from selling plus parachutes. Wolves are a bit different but the owners have invested a lot in youth there and I can see them having a...

    Wolves and West Ham

Personally think both will be well resourced for the championship, I’d be surprised to see either of them in the play offs.

    Wolves and West Ham

Both of those teams in the Championship next season could make for a very tough year for hopeful promotion sides, I can’t see a world where it’s not those two in the top spots. Do we think West Ham are done? They were very poor last night.

We shouldn’t be after players like Joel Ward in my opinion, it’s like the Bolasie move all over again. It’s not that he isn’t a good player, I bet he could do a job for us but what wages would he command? If it’s just for cover then surely we can loan a youngster in or use Parker?

What are we really expecting from Matos....

I would agree about Vipotnik, as much as I like him and think he’s been very good this season, I don’t think he’s what Matos would want for this style of play. We’ll more than likely be looking to sell him in the summer to bring in a more pressing forward as you say. I hope it works out here for...

What are we really expecting from Matos....

I think we’ve done as well as can be expected considering where we were. The football is improving in my eyes, passing is better, distances between players is shorter and no more gaps in midfield. We’re never going to be playing tiki taka because Matos follows Klopp who was never like that...

What are we really expecting from Matos....

The difference with Sunderland is that they finished 6th the season before they finished 16th, proving that they had a few players that could mix it up the top end of the table. Their recruitment has been more hit than miss from what I’ve seen and I think in general that 16th season was seen as...

What are we really expecting from Matos....

I’ll admit to being one of the people who thought the attacking output would improve if we changed manager and I still think that has been the case but not as much as I initially thought. I was hoping we’d see a bit better from some of our wide players than we have in terms of end product...

    S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Millwall 2 Swansea 1 | Att: 14,242 | 04/01/26 | The EFL Championship | The Den

When you consider the points we’ve picked up recently, it’s insane that we’re only 17th. A lot of damage done in the first quarter or so of the season and we’re paying for it still. The championship top 6 looks weak to me this season (or at least there are no real heavyweights), it’s bitterly...

Hopefully we put mostly a second string side out against West Brom in the cup. These players could do with the rest. I think we’ve got enough in us to avoid relegation, I just hope we start scoring a few more goals.

I meant more to come up against in fairness. Although, even down here we’ve absolutely outplayed them a few times and they still manage to get something. That game with 2 OGs under Martin should be studied as an incident of divine intervention.

Ah well, they had a hatful of good chances in the first half apparently. Missed 4 big chances going by the stats, can’t grumble if a side has actually created a lot against us. Disappointing but Millwall are a horrible side at The Den. Move on to the cup game.

Hopefully it’s the team selection because that can be easily fixed. I have to say I didn’t like the look of that midfield when the team sheets came out.

I can’t watch the game today so can’t comment with any substance but it’s not sounding good at all. Hopefully we can regroup at halftime. Millwall are decent enough this season but I was not expecting to be battered in the way we appear to have been. We have expended a lot of energy over this...

I do think we need a back up striker to cover for Idah but if the only signing we made was Rak Sakyi on loan and we didn’t lose anyone, I’d be happy with that.

I don’t think that was reported by a reliable source was it? I didn’t see Tom Coleman (he is an official source for the club despite the doubts) or Vital Swansea saying anything about that, they are the only two I would trust for transfer news based on previous windows. Interesting if we are...

    DOF

I think as well, we’ve had managers in the past who were supposed to be about pressing and working hard (Duff said it I think and Sheehan) but this is the first time since we’ve been relegated for me that we actually look like we’re playing a pressing style of play. I always say, I can get on...

    S25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea City 1 WBA 0 | Att: 17,416 | NYD 2026 | The EFL Championship | The Swansea.com Stadium

For me, our performances are better than what we saw at the start of this season. Our build up play is smoother and takes less passes, there is no longer a gaping hole in our midfield when the ball gets turned over, Stamenic and Yalcouye have been dropping in deep to pick up the ball so it no...

Enjoyed watching that today. It’s clear we have problems creating chances but we do have an exceptional work rate on and off the ball at the moment. The goal was a prime example of that, it all started with Ronald putting in an excellent challenge, and the finish was incredible from Fulton...
