I can’t remember the last time we went away to a promotion chaser and came away with anything. We’re capable of winning if we are ultra clinical and don’t miss sitters like we did at Coventry and Hull, but ultimately I’m not convinced that we are tight enough at the back……yet.

    Yalcouye

That is the potential outcome, but if they’ve been watching his development keenly it may be noted that he’s likely to get more game time with us next season if he continues to stand out. Our competitors will have made note of him

    Yalcouye

I was wondering the same thing as I was driving home last night. I think he’s being managed by a guy who knows a lot about young players’ development, plus he’s a loanee. I think we’ll see the same with Walta who also needs time. Yalcouye has close control and quick feet the like of which we...

    Yalcouye

Nice problem to have. I have a sense that Galbraith or Stamenic will be sold as that is the business model and Malik has all the makings of a star player.

    Yalcouye

He’s improved massively as the season has gone on, there’s an incredible player waiting to happen one he gains experience and composure. Personally I hope for a Guehi style extended loan as next season he will go up another few levels, but probably won’t feature for Brighton yet. Wishful...

    The RB situation-Key and Galbraith

Tricky one in midfield, Stamenic is perfectly suited to the CDM role as is back next game. But yeah, Galbraith should be in midfield so he can influence the game, he is great at finding and making space. Maybe a starting trio of Stamenic, Galbraith and Franco with Yalcouye (who really deserves a...

Poor performance tonight, no dressing that up, better in the second half but the first set the bar so low that even one accurate pass would have been an upgrade. I praised Ben and Cam at the weekend for their doggedness but tonight they showed their limitations on the ball and why we need to...

    Play offs..

I don’t think so, not with the fixtures we have in the last 13 games. 65 points would be more than acceptable. And that’s fine, even to be talking about this being a slight possibility means that Matos has been a huge success, and we can genuinely expect to put in a serious challenge next season.

Haha, that analogy will do nicely! And watching him try to deliver a cross is like trying to eat said trifle with chopsticks!

Agreed, yes I should have included him in that too. He was great, battled non stop. It was a game for the meat-and-potatoes players!

Ben and Cam won that for us today! They were up for the battle in the rain. Not slick footballers and arguably not our future but they held it all together today. Walta look good when he came on, smart player. Need the likes of him and Galbraith to show Eom and Ronald how to use the ball, their...

    Cam Burgess

Not a terrible player or an awful signing, but not a player who suits or style (neither is Cabango and a few others) and will invariably be replaced over the next 12 months with Matos’ own players. Helping to build the foundations though, but we need at least 1 ball playing CB in the starting...

It’s like a tornado at Toys R Us! Matos is now a clueless lovechild of Sheehan and Martin and all hope is lost.

I’d say 1 step back. We’ve generally been pretty good imo, but a couple of weaknesses have been flagged up for a dose of reality. Lacking a punch and got pounded from old fashioned set piece tactics. We need a Sinclair and an Ash.

One of those days. No worries here, the foundations are there, give it a year and we beat teams like this and Hull.

The ambition has to be to keep Matos and add a sprinkle of quality, stating the obvious. We are very close to being a seriously good team, just lacking a ruthless edge (Eom, love him but he’s cost us a couple of goals with poor execution). Making this bunch of playoff contenders look like a pub...

Look at that bench. We aren’t going to burn out. 90 minute game, not all about the starting XI anymore

    New Deal For Jay Fulton

If Vic thinks he’s worth another 2 years then it’s ok by me. A man transformed in the last few months.

Where will the Swans finish this season?

I think we’ll be hanging on to the coat tails of the playoffs until the last couple of games, much like last season. Which given the horrendous start to the season is an absolute miracle, I thought we were going to do a Cardiff. Next season we’ll finish 2nd.

Was going to allude to that as well, by far the best I’ve seen from Yalcouye, constantly made himself available for passes and didn’t give it away once. Also broke up a number of their moves. Great show from him.
