• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

    DOF

Agreed, they don't win the premier league though. So the owners saying we are league leaders in that won't translate to instant success like Daps suggested.

    DOF

Being league leaders in it doesn’t mean we will be top of the league though. It means they feel they have data systems and personnel which give us the edge over others, Galbraith would be a good example as he’s up there with the best players in the league at the moment plucked under the noses of...

    DOF

We had one and now he’s in league two. The recruitment at present is looking decent, problem we have, and I’m guilty of it as well, we write off players too early coming into a complete different country and league. Sheehan was an issue but now the players are starting to impress. It was...

That was never suggested at the forum you’ve made that up unfortunately Daps.

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

Vital is suggesting the 1m is largely made up of promotion clauses, which means we have found a workaround that is acceptable to everyone and doesn’t cost us a heap up front

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

The person who hired the manager that we had to sack (our then DoF) has been sacked and is now in league two. We have now replaced that manager in 10 days, which is quicker than a lot of clubs is basically what I'm trying to say.

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

So hang on. We've sorted manager out in ten days? Boro have appointed hellberg and still have interim staff in for this weekends fixture, and Norwich have taken even longer. It's difficult, especially at this level. Notts County another example, took longer than this replacing Luke Williams...

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

Out of curiosity what's an acceptable amount of days to replace a manager? Norwich took a while. What are we on now 11 days?

Are we doing OK or underachieving?

It's Inoussa's first few months in a new country and league, going to be a huge player for us and a big asset on the books. Casey has been quality when given minutes, we can't judge a signing on one mistake, there'll be countless other instances going forward. Vipotnik is probably the inform...

Are we doing OK or underachieving?

Casey - Looks a diamond Inoussa - Our most dangerous winger Ishe - Excellent second choice LB Galbraith - Player of season Idah - Excellent competition for Vipotnik Yalcouye - Done very well other than the red Melker - One of the brightest players in recent weeks Stamenic - He’s excellent...

Brilliant news. FAO Tardylum - Surprised we managed to sort that without you there Richy, being the messiah an all that. Like a chocolate teapot in reality.

Managing the Message: How Swansea City Is Curating Its Power Narrative

Take all points on board but don't think it's necessarily true that it's the norm for clubs however. Manchester United for example, the actual Director of Recruitment there is Christopher Vivell, has anyone ever heard or seen of him in interviews etc? Clubs usually do recruitment behind closed...

Managing the Message: How Swansea City Is Curating Its Power Narrative

Are Heads of Recruitment usually public facing at clubs though? I can't think of many examples, if any. Not sure on what all the speculation is about to be honest. He find the players and Gorringe signs them, no different to what has happened all summer, but just with Montague doing some of the...
