Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr
All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.
Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.
It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.
The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.
Under Sheehan last season we were regularly shooting from distance, getting the crowd on their feet, getting some momentum, etc.
All that seems to have stopped now. Very easy to defend against if you know that the opposition aren't going to have a pop as you can stand off at your leisure.
I would also add that presumably the plan last night was to still be in the game with 10 minutes left to play and then have a bit of a go. As soon as we started doing that, we looked much better. Although whether that was due to a change in approach or personnel (Vip on for Idah), who knows.
The football we've seen so far this season, without exception, has been extremely far removed from what I would consider to to be the 'Swansea Way'.
It's just a slight variation on the garbage served up by Williams which in itself was a slight variation of the garbage served up by Martin...
Depends on whether they all tell the players to play a certain way.
It seems to be as though the football we were playing at the end of last season has been replaced by a variation of Russ/Lukeball, without any real reason as to why.
There's also a sense for me that if we make the right change early, there's nothing in this league this season. I reckon we'd still have half a chance of mounting some sort of challenge
Picking Franco and Yalcouye (and Stamenic for that matter) in midfield and putting Galbraith at right back is like taking three Asda value sausages out of the freezer for your tea whilst the dog has a ribeye steak
My take on it is that they probably gave Sheehan the job out of obligation given the way we finished last season. They really had no option but to do so.
Given the intent we've shown this summer, there has clearly been a plan and I'd be amazed if giving our previous coach the manager position...
Which is exactly what also happened under those two managers.
What's happened to the all action matches of the end of last season?
We have been dreadful to watch this season
I'm sorry to read that about Amy. We are pretty much exactly the same age from memory and she crosses my mind a lot.
I'm looking forward to being able to take my own kids and relive a lot of that magic through them. I'm expecting it'll be like rediscovering the magic of Christmas again.
