• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

All these "lifelong" fans seem to be enjoying finding a scapegoat at every turn at the moment. I've never seen such pathetic topics being raised on here this past few weeks. All this does is transcend onto the terraces and down to the players and affects confidence further. It's as if you all...

    Tymon

He was bought in as a wing back, this was part of the new duff system. Stoke fans said themselves that as a wing back he was quality but as a left back useless. It doesn't help matters that Williams wants key and tymon to get up the flanks which is ultimately making poor defenders look even worse.

Luke Williams - Jack Army Poll

We had some good results up untill 3 weeks ago. 3 away games since, one with a make shift team....feels knee jerk to me 🤷‍♂️

    Harry Darling and Luke Williams

Ashley Williams went on to become a very good premiership centre half and captain his country....no one is saying Darling is at that level. All I'm saying is he has many good attributes for a centre half and will only get better with age (as with most centre halfs).

    Harry Darling and Luke Williams

But playing at a lower level 🙈 jeez guys these replys are powder puff at best 🤣

Ashley williams joined us as a 24yr old in league 1....

    Harry Darling and Luke Williams

Most teams play one up top and so if cabango is given the man marking task then darling is always going to be the free defender who's job it is to cover his partner and try and track a late runner into the box. You have to remember not many right footed centre halfs like playing on the left side...

    Harry Darling and Luke Williams

Huh? We barely conceded a goal first 3 months of the season and since leaking he's generally been one of our better players week in week out with committed performances, chippings with goals and assists and even playing when unwell.

    Harry Darling and Luke Williams

If he standing out within an average championship team and gets good reviews from fans from clubs like WBA then logic would say he's better than average. I'm not sure what the guy has to do week in week out to become a better than average centre half.

    Harry Darling and Luke Williams

No I agree with that but to say he's just an "average" championship centre half is just nonsense. What are people basing this on? 🤷‍♂️

    Harry Darling and Luke Williams

West brom fans were raving about him yesterday and some were saying that whenever they have seen him play he's acut above the average for this league and is a premier league defender in waiting.

    Reading play off final side

O dewr Jeez take the HUGE chip off your shoulder. It's no wonder why players with potential don't want to sign contract extensions with "fans" like yourself giving them grief on a weekly basis.

    Reading play off final side

O dewr Tell me what Monk did before his was 25....o yes...nothing...tumbleweed 🤣🤣

    Reading play off final side

Nah its called an educated opinion, there was a reason why Monk was playing in the lower divisions intitally...because he wasn't good enough. He got to the Premier League due to being captain of a settled side who knew how to get the best of each other. Darling is a good young player who will...

    Reading play off final side

So Gower who scored 3 goals in 107 games as intitally a winger and then a centre midfielder and played most of his career at Southend as I remember gets in above all of our current midfielders 🙈

    Reading play off final side

At the same age of their careers Monk was playing reserve footy for southampton while Darling is in his 3rd season in the championship. Darling is captain material that there is no doubt and for has the ability to far exceed Monk. I'm not criticising Monk ability but he chronic lack of pace was...

    Reading play off final side

When they played first played together end of last season I'm pretty sure they kept 5 clean sheets in a row untill the last game of the season and again this season untill the last month they haven't done much wrong. Individual errors by cabango rather then being defensively frail

    Reading play off final side

If Nathan Wood is "good enough" to have minutes in the premier league then so is Darling. He has all the attributes, I struggle to see a clear weakness, the odd error granted but playing this new suicide football that many clubs play then it's almost a given on times.

    Reading play off final side

You do realise that Monk played afew seasons in a division below Darling and only when he reached 30ish did he play at a higher level. Monk also played in a side that was on the upward curve and were favourites for a couple of seasons in league 1 and then genuine playoff contenders in the...

    Key

That right side is definitely an issue at the moment and we dont seem to have found the righy formula yet. Regarding MPH, this may sounds alittle ridiculous but he reminds me of Tom huddlestone alittle with his lazy style but strong physique. Personally i see his future as an 8 with some legs...
