• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

There’s been little media attention regarding Rodger’s which makes think he just isn’t interested Hi next move will probably be the Middle East on £5m a year His last 4 jobs suggest his wages are way out of any championship clubs budget

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

Lots of Swans fans on twitter arguing that we are prepared to offer £1million for Matos which we should have just offered to Hellberg instead to persuade him I think people seem to miss the fact that Middlesborough are a much better prospect than us currently. Bigger club, better league...

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

One way to look at it - if he continues to do this well with Maritimo and gets them promoted this year the opinion of the majority of our fans would be different on him Maybe someone at the club has recognised his ability and we are taking a chance on him before his reputation takes us beyond...

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

He may turn out to be the next Roberto Martinez for us. I don’t think there’s anything in his managerial stats/data to suggest he’s going to be good or bad so he must have impressed our decision makers with something else we don’t know about The only people that can probably give us a good...

I hope we take our time and search for someone of high quality and potential and not rush into a decision to appease fans The next manager odds list is a depressing read. But think there’s a lot of potential if we look across the continent. We’ve spread the net far and wide with last few...

I think he’s had a 4 year spell with Liverpool a few years back so not sure if that would help with work permit?

    Martin. Yes or No?

Not sure I agree but I take your point. Allen, Naughton & Obafemi were poor players in Martins tenure I think our strength in depth is massively improved. Look at our bench under Martin & then look at our bench this season - Eom, Yalcouye, Idah, Widell, Ronald are much better options that we...

    Martin. Yes or No?

I’m not advocating on him returning But I do think he would get more from this squad than Sheehan has done based on how he managed our 22/23 season squad which was much poorer than our current team, in my opinion

    Martin. Yes or No?

It’s a firm no from me. Not a fan of Managers returning to clubs - which is why I am against Rodger’s too. However - Russell Martin got us a 9th place finish with a squad which included in his starting 11 - Sorinola, Fulton, Cooper, Cullen & Naughton at RB. If he had our current squad 3 years...

I think there’s a good chance Yalcouye will be recalled by Brighton in January. Don’t think he’s had the impact they would have liked after he played champions league football last season

I wonder what our position would be if he still hasn’t given us an answer by tomorrow? Are we prepared to wait or do we move on to get someone in place ready for Saturday

Thought Ayew & Gomis were great pick ups on a free. Made £20million on Ayew but he did then re-sign him for the same amount 😂 Some of the money we spent on those last 2 years in the prem Clucas, Baston, Ayew were ridiculously bad decisions which is mad looking back on

Hellberg is looking at his options so we are probably looking at other options too - hence why Moras’ odds have shortened. Obviously we are speaking to others and not just Hellberg it seems

I don’t understand why so many want Gary O’Neil Reminds me so much of Garry Monk. He hasn’t done anything to suggest he is a good manager
