• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

There’s no way I’d take our best midfielder out of the middle. Obviously right back is a bit of an issue though. Is Parker ready maybe?

Matt Grimes, Captain of Coventry City.

He was never the problem. I’m not sure why people couldn’t see that. All this rubbish about him only going sideways and backwards wasn’t supported by the stats (or human eyes). The full season before he left us he was in the top 4% of midfielders for forward passes, for example. Last season top...

Yep. Utterly shapeless and clueless last night and Bristol City wasn’t much better. These have been the first two games I’ve thought we could be in serious trouble. This squad has always struggled for goals but now we’ve lost our structure and the defensive organisation, which up until Sheehan...

I’m in the camp that thinks the players aren’t good enough. I know us fans are split on this (as per the other thread going on). Sheehan was getting the most out of them up until he lost the plot a few weeks ago imo. You can’t tell me after watching our front line week in week out that there are...

Strong bench though. Nothing stopping us bringing five on after 15 minutes.

Vitor Matos Named Swansea City Boss as New Era Begins at the Swansea.com Stadium

The timeline suggests that wasn’t the case. Hellberg came over for talks and then Middlesbrough hijacked it. And then we went in for Matos. That’s the way it seemed. I imagine it’s pretty common to have multiple options up your sleeve for managers and players, so it’s no issue either way. The...

VIP’s certainly papered over our atrocious attack. His goals have dried up and we look lost (hard to score when you’re on the bench mind - Sheehan and O’Dea are clowns)

I’m still surprised at how quickly we’ve unraveled. We were fine a few weeks ago, solid at the back but just struggling a bit up top and so on the wrong end of some fine margins. But the team was together. People were bouncing after the effort against Man City. Then we stuck with 3 at the back...

He’s a poor man’s Grimes, without the work rate and quality on the ball. He’s ok, but nothing more.

That’s the difference. Bristol haven’t looked good and haven’t had much of the ball, but one good ball in and one deft touch, with our keeper and Burgess dithering, and it’s 2. We’ve been in similar positions around their box and done sod all with it. I know Eom’s getting stick, but Ronald is...

Galbraith getting no help in the middle. We have such large spaces between players.

    The ‘Vítor Matos’ Managerial Thread

Yep, a definite roll of the dice. I still think Klopp himself couldn’t make Ronald, Cullen and Eom a lethal attack, but we’ll see. I hope people don’t do anything stupid and start expecting promotion. I’ll be happy to just see some progress. I think there’s still a lot of repair work to do...

An 80s classic. But it was’t a patch on Blue Nun lol. And to think some people reckon things were better in the ‘good’ old days.
