• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

    Coventry

It’s no coincidence that since they signed Grimes, they’ve gone up another level. Not saying he’s been the main difference but there must be something in it. I was a harsh critic of him down here. We’re now starting to see our current midfielders do what he was doing. Maybe it’s ingrained in the...

Entertainment after a hard week in work.

Looking at the shape on trundle these days, he could probably do a decent job in our first 11!

    Josh key

If you were at the game yesterday, then yes I did see the game. And that’s what football and this forum is about. Opinions. I respect yours, but there was a degree of a superiority complex in your response. Fine if you think Key and Ronald are doing ok. My opinion differs.

Could do with a spell on the sidelines. Seems to have regressed since he joined us. Same can be said of Ronald too. Our weakest link is the right side, both defensively and offensively.

    Alan Sheehan.

Wasn’t a proven winner at Wembley! That performance stank.

Holds on to the ball for far too long for my liking, especially in dangerous areas. Cabango had a right pop at him today for doing so.

    Widell

You watch, come January we’ll probably send him out on loan.

Jason Bowen: Wore Both Colours, Carried More Than Most

Were Leggy and Cornforth also there at around the same time? That 94/95 Swansea squad must’ve made an impression on Barry Fry.

    Burgess v Darling

I know being a Swans fan I’m going to be biased and say Burgess is better, but I genuinely think he is. He commands a bigger presence, is good with both feet and is good in the air. Yes, Darling did contribute to goals and assists, and I’m not denigrating him, but overall Burgess is a more...

    Lawrence Vigouroux

.. take a bow son. Absolutely superb today against Hull, commanding his area and coming for every ball. Best game i think that I’ve seen him play

    Sheffield United

The way the owners treated Wilder, he’d be a fool to go back to work for them

    Football benches

They’re massive these days aren’t they? Back I the day, there was the manager, assistant, physio and one sub. Nowadays benches are huge. And what’s with these iPads and flip charts when subs are being made? Has the game become more complicated from 40 odd years ago?

    New 3rd away shirt…

Joma have really impressed me tbf. I didn’t know much about them after the agreement with adidas ended. They do imho knock spots of adidas, whose kits are pretty bland. I’m sure they just create a template at the start of the season and whip on different clubs crest and sponsors. But if we’re...

    New 3rd away shirt…

….anyone else think that it’s a thing of beauty? The Gulf sponsor tops it off for me personally, as even though we were third division, some of my happiest times following the swans was back around that time. Now all we need are DP and Action retros!

    Today's attendance

Cardiff are welcome to the bigger crowds. Crack on. But with a catchment area twice the size of Swansea at least, their crowds are cr@p. But that’s all the headslappers go on about. Bigger crowds, bigger this. Yes bigger But we are BETTER

    Galbraith

Grimes shouldn’t be mentioned in the same breath as the other two!

    Cullen v Sheff Utd

Felt for him yesterday. Plainly obvious he’s not a 9. He’s also not the type to hold up Play and bring midfielders into the game. He struggled. Hope Sheehan realises this after his(Cullens) performance yesterday.

    Wrecsam

What rinsed me off at times were some swans fans saying that they hope Wrexham did well as it would be great for Welsh football? How? In that respect shouldn’t they wish Cardiff well too? They seem an entitled bunch now and the arrogance is almost bordering on Cardiff proportions. I hope we...

The Striker Conundrum: Swansea Walk Away from Kone and Search for New Attacking Identity

Going back to our old ways it seems, with last minute or panic buys, though I appreciate that we have done some early business, so I’ll give the new owners the benefit of the doubt. We’ve known all summer that we’re week in the striker department, why not get the business done early? We’ll make...

    Should we be concerned?

Two defeats against lower league opposition. I know there was a mix of first team and fringe players starting but today’s lineup was pretty strong. What are we lacking?
